I buy a few rolls of 1 oz dollar denomination sovereign silver coins ever year. I always order them in 20 increments because I found companies "always" until now ship them in tubes. These guys shipped me 40 new issue coins loose in ziplock bags. A little insult to injury I ordered 20 that were in stock and 20 that were back ordered. They held my stock order until the backorder could be filled. Just bad customer experience. This could be a single customer service issue. I have ordered from them several times and they shipped quick and in tubes. However, when I emailed them I got the response "I will let out team know." I get a more professional response form Amazon when I have an issue on a $10 purchase.

For anyone just getting into gold, you'll find your best deals with things like Ducats and Florins. Even though it's fractional gold, the premiums are relatively low.

I have never been lied to and stolen from by any company in my life besides Apmex!! Two consecutive orders, on one I ordered a Washington quarter that was rated ms66. When I bought it the picture shown the quarter was slabbed backwards and beautifully toned. The next day when I got my receipt I was excited and I clicked on the coin that I purchased and noticed that it had been relisted for $240 more? Of course when my order arrived there was a regular Washington quarter, not the one pictured! I contacted their corrupt and snotty return Department and got a return approved. I sent in the coin they had mailed me and when they got it they claimed that the right quarter was out of stock. It is still for sale today on their website for an inflated price! And Believe It or Not this was the better of my two experiences! Unfortunately I had placed another order before they lied to me. That order arrived and was missing a whole roll of Mercury dimes. They sent me a video supposedly proving that they packed it and shipped it to me. It totally does everything but that. The guy handling the coins shoves his hand all the way into the envelope as soon as it comes out the envelope his hand leaves the screen goes over to the right set something down and then comes back and folds an envelope. I was told by their snotty snotty snotty return representative that was procedure and that was just tape he was setting aside. The camera so far away you can't even tell if it's my order or not anyway . They then sent me an email blaming the post office even though it was packaged like every other package I've gotten from them just minus the most expensive part of my order ? They're definitely not customer friendly and do not give two flips about you or any of their customers . As I'm starting to look around this happens regularly with this company ! This company uses illegal advertising practices, steals your money and doesn't care one bit about of their customers the shadiest organization I have ever seen in my life! You've been warned!! They will lie and steal from you!

Ordered a coin bezel and a coin to go with it. Coin bezel arrives first, poorly made (the jump ring was soldered on crooked) and the bail too small for my chain. To get a bail that would fit would be an additional $200, which I am not able to do.

I initiate a return on the bezel and cancel the coin order. Even though the coin had not shipped, and the price of gold went UP since my purchase, I was deducted a "Market Loss" penalty of $35.

Who knows what they will try and pull with the bezel return. Poorest customer experience I have had in a long time. They got me for $70, so buyer beware. Also, good luck getting an email response, and you're really out of luck if you want to use the chat that just says, "No agent available".

I have been a regular customer of APMEX since 2019. I have made many purchases from this dealer as it has a variety of products from the world's mints. I like the excellent services the dealer provides and after my each order, I really look forward to receiving the items that I ordered.

I have been purchasing from Apmex for several years. Overall, very satisfied. Most of my orders have been without a problem; however, I did have a problem with an order a few months ago where some of the coins appeared to be damaged. Customer Service was very helpful and initiated the return without an issue. It did take a bit of time to actually get the refund; but, you just need to be patient (and follow-up with them).

My latest order did not come with the promised Numbered certificate or the mint documentation suggesting this was not a new item. The coins themselves were beautiful and I decided it was no big deal since I do not plan to sell them anytime soon. It was also a case that Apmex frequently sells coins you simply cannot find anywhere else. The premium can be a bit high so you have to weigh how badly you want the coins. For more "common" coins, the premium is in line with other dealers. Overall, I would recommend Apmex!

This company claims that for Elite Members you get free gift after 1 yr of being with them. My year was up last month and nothing. Try customer service...LOL...what a joke! They don't even know the policy. They just said "it's not every year" DUH! it says after 1 year and this was my 1 yr anniv. Overall they are not terrible but these kind of lies and tricks. I would never order again if they can't even honor their promotions. Goodbye

Maybe it was my last purchase. Unfortunately the last 2 purchases were a disappointment, in one of them the set was not new and was damaged. The last purchase is more of a customs handling problem but there is no help from APMEX (technical support was very rude).

I've been purchasing from APMEX often along with other companies such as JM Bullion, SD Bullion, Modern Coin Mart and Gov Mint.com and Money Metals Exchange. I tend to shop around for the best bargain for me and what I need to add to my collection of coins, bars and special products. So far I have never had an issue with any order from APMEX and have always received my products in quality condition and usually at a common price comparing it to other companies. I usually check to see what everyone else is selling at what cost above spot. I will go with of course the lower above spot but depending on if I'm purchasing for a possible resale or just for my collection then that will not always be the case and I may go with the higher cost. I usually buy for my personal collection and not for resale. APMEX has always treated me fairly with great product, good service and fast delivery. I'm not sure but if you let customer service know that you would rather have to sign for your product when it arrives I believe this is an option they do provide, don't quote me on it but I thought I saw this somewhere on their site. Check with customer service to get the answer to this question.

I order my first silver coin. The ordering is easy and the order arrived to me fast. Now I am ordering the 2021 red book of United States to understand about coin. Yes I will continue to buy from AMPEX. One last thing, the customer service answered all of my question, which was excellent .

My order was scheduled to ship today 2/2/21 but because of the amount of orders 1/31 & 2/1 over the weekend my order has been delayed until the 9th. Pretty simple; ship the old orders first before you worry about the new orders. $2094.39 was taken from my bank account on 1/26/21 and my ship date has been changed three times today so I don't know when it will ship. For now I sit and hope for the best. Will I get the gold coin that I purchased and will it be a quality coin? My elite status has just slipped a few notches and my view of Apmex has also fell.

So, I bought couple of silver rounds for a birthday from them, they said it would have to be signed for when delivered but No! APMEX used USPS and didn't request a signature. So USPS left the package at the front office. Now its missing! Genius! Send expensive metals but don't bother to make sure it's delivered!
I am beyond upset not because they lost the merch but because my son missed my present!

I have been buying the silver route 66 shields form this company, however they have decided to only strike a few of the Jack Rabbit trading post coins, making it impossible to complete the series.. They sell coins at a reasonable price but my advice is do not attempt to complete any series this company tries to sell. you will end up with scrap value coins.

Have been a customer of APMEX for many years. Until recently they always have what I’m looking for in stock, but I’m understanding due to the current world situation. My most recent order arrived faster than projected and was in great shape.

I continue to monitor gold prices and anticipate future gold purchases but just recently noticed that the current gold price on their website, which updates as the day goes on, was not what I was seeing on the NY stock exchange ticker. The price on the APMEX website was almost $20 higher. I thought it might be a lag in the updates, but when the trading day on Friday ended the numbers still didn’t match up. I gave it more time and have noticed this is an everyday occurrence.

So on top of now crazy high premiums on gold coins the spot price is higher than the actual spot price. I am still going to look for future gold purchases, but will be keeping a closer eye on prices!

One of their buyers drug his feet all day saying he was busy with trades even though I sent him all of my sell list along with pictures the day/night before, Heck mine was well over $35k trade and he did not send me an offer until so late in the day and it seemed incorrect to me so I couldn't buy the coins I wanted. I looked at them just a few minutes ago and they only had (4) left and I wanted to purchase (19). I doubt I would ever do business with them again as they don't help out their long term customers. I would look to other places that treat their longtime customers with the service and respect they deserve.

Great place to make purchases from. Fast shipping. Dealing with other dealers I find APMEX prices to be a little better. I’ve only had one experience where the wrong item was shipped to me but customer service corrected immediately. Will definitely be purchasing more from them on a regular basis.

I have used this company before and I am happy with their service and quality. Very easy to deal with. I only wish the John Wick product line all had a COA with them and we know how many ( total mintage limit ) they will produce. This was my first gold coin I ever bought. I usually buy silver ( coin and bar ) but this item seems like it will be a nice collectable as it is tied to the John Wick movie franchise and licensed as such. I would highly recommend APMEX if you are buying coins or bars for collecting and or investing in metals.

Until recently APMEX was outstanding. Over the last 13 years, I have ordered from APMEX over $200,000 in gold and platinum that I store in my safety deposit box. And, I recommended them to several people. During these 13 years, they have grown from a small company to one of the largest.

However, APMEX has now become a criminal organization because they will first take your money and after your check has cleared your bank, they will then find issues in your order. Especially, like in my case where the market value of my order increased by almost $1,000. They refused to fill my order until after I resolved some issues and they intended to cancel my order and resell at the much higher current market price if I didn’t respond to an email within 48 hours. As a long-term customer, APMEX had zero reasons to find any issues and I was able to resolve the issues and they shipped my order. However, I was certainly worried for a couple of days. Their intent was to cancel my order since the price had increased. I believe there would have been no issues if there had been a price drop.

If APMEX has any reasons for issues, they should post it on their website or otherwise notify you and give you the opportunity to resolve the issues before they accept your order. Certainly, APMEX shouldn’t wait until after your check has cleared and they have your money to find issues. Their so-called justification is that some people will use an alias to place an order and APMEX will use that as an attempt to cancel the order if there is a significant increase in the market price or perhaps even to keep your money. Regardless, whether their issues are the use of an alias and/or some other reason, the customer should be given an opportunity to resolve the issues before making payment. Otherwise, if they receive payment, they should fill the order.

I don't recommend APMEX unless you first call and talk to them to make sure they will have no issues. Instead, I recommend "Only Gold" or "JM Bullion." Both companies sell gold, silver, platinum, etc. and have very good prices.

I started to purchase metals not too long ago and made a few orders with APMEX. All the transaction was smooth and when I have question about the product that I ordered, they reply right away. Beautiful customer service.

A very good experience with my first order from APMEX. First off, it came very quickly. It was sent out faster then any other company I have purchased silver or gold from. The order was for 4 silver coins and one silver bar.

The packaged it very well. I am used to USPS destroying things that are sent to me, so this was nice to see it so well packaged. the silver was first wrapped in a little bubble envelope, then taped to the inside of a small but thick cardboard sleeve box. this double packaging method ensures that the silver doesn't slide around even if it takes a hit, and its away from the corners where hits most often can damage them.

2 of the coins came just in little plastic bags instead of flip. I didn't like that, but at least they where sealed in the plastic which does protect them. The bags are harder to inspect the coins because of the writing on them, but easier to keep them clean the two other coins came in plastic flips, that where then sealed in the little plastic bags. the Bar was in its own sealed plastic that was thick and lets me inspect the silver.

3 of the coins where absolutely perfect when I examined them. the South African Krugerrand has very slight tiny bumps on the outer rim of the front side. it is so slight however that I'm not concerned, and the dots seem to be from the manufacturing at the mint, not from any mishandling by APMEX.

The bar was the APMEX brand 1 ounce silver bar. The symbol and writing on the bar seems very nice and clean, however along the outside edge when looking face on to the bar, there was a noticable ridge that went along most but not all of the outside edge. looking edge on it didn't seem that it was a bent edge, so I can only assume its a tiny bit of extra silver. its not too bad, and the writing on the bar is very nice so overall I'm pleased. I will most likely be buying more of there brand bar because I like the look of it, so I will report back if the error is on all the bars or just the first one I bought.

Since I had no major issues with the order, I cant really comment on the customer service except that when I asked questions before purchasing, they did respond back to me. I received info from them on a frequent buyers program of some sort, and I will be using that in the future.

In all, I am very pleased with my first purchase from this company, and will be making more purchases in the near future of silver, and perhaps some platinum. I hope this review helps anyone interested in this company for buying there silver.

APMEX slips reject coins into rolls advertised as BU. Milk spots, blemishes and gouges. They even dropped a 600 dollar coin and damaged it badly. No more business from me.

I bought gold coins some years ago. With gold trading at a relatively high price I began looking for a place to sell. What I wanted was a known price and a reasonably quick transaction over a few days. I contacted a local gold buyer with an internet listing and was quoted spot price with a 10 percent transaction cost. I then looked at several online dealers and decided on the limited reviews I could find from sellers of gold coins to go with APMEX.

I was quoted a fair price which was a few percent below the gold coin price and very close to the current spot price. When I accepted the offer they sent a purchase order quoting the price and a fee of $28 for shipping through an insured UPS arrangement. I sent the coins which took two days to arrive and on that date I received a message that My coins were received. The next business day I was notified that payment would be made by ACH. The next day the deposit was in the bank.

I had some reluctance because of the distance involved but the transaction proceeded as described above which I considered just what was promised. Now my coins were uncirculated American Eagles so there was no isuu s with grading or weight which is why I buy the US Minted coins.

A good experience that brought a fair price in several days. I would use APMEX again for gold or silver Eagles for either a purchase or a sale.

I have always had excellent customer service here. My orders have always been correct and I've always have received everything I ordered. I enjoy their selections, variety, and fair pricing.

My only complaint or wish is it they would cease to use the US Postal Service. Any delay in receiving my order has been a result of the postal services poor service. I feel that they are a less than secure method of delivery given the amount of theft or indifference toward the mail the postal carriers have. I would much rather see this turned over to UPS or FedEx.

So many negatives reviews, just wanted to point out they are the vocal minority. Most purchases are probably like mine. You go through the purchase process (I did wire transfer early on a Wednesday), coins were in the mail the SAME DAY and in hand on Friday. I bought PCGS rated coins to avoid the whole "tarnished" and "scratched" dance that can occur with loose coins (at less than 1% total cost difference). Honestly coun't be happier with the whole purchase.

If you're cruising reviews, remember that most people who are Happy with their buys don't ever leave a review. Most who are Unhappy do leave reviews, because misery loves company.

I have been purchasing from APMEX for over 10 years now. I have never had a single problem with any order. I have also referred numerous people to them and they too have never had any problems. Every order comes when they say and it is what they say.

At first I did have a negative experience related to my payment method. I had made a mistake and selected the wrong payment method. Getting that payment method changed and corrected took a little bit of effort, in this case, but to be clear the mistake was mine. After a short delay and after following up with APMEX on the telephone (I spoke with Nick), the problem has been corrected. APMEX also has an active social media presence and they reached out from there to provide additional assistance. I have bumped my review up to 5 stars. APMEX has really reached out and taken care of my problem. They have demonstrated that they value me as a customer. I will continue to purchase precious metals from them. Precious metals are a big part of my retirement plan and also a part of my children's college fund. As such I plan to make purchases periodically into the future. Thank you APMEX- you corrected my problem, took care of me and, and have earned my continued business and loyalty.

My order was never delivered and it was not a situation where the PO was saying they delivered and I was claiming it wasn't, even the PO website is still listing the package as "In Transit", it's been "in Transit" for over 3 mnths now.

I see people saying Apmex isn't responsible for the PO - YES, THEY ARE. All business source out certain things to 3rd parties and they're ultimately responsible for those 3rd parties. If you buy a TV from a store and get it home and it's broken you take it back to the store right? Did that store make the TV? No, but they sold it, they're responsible.

I ordered over $3300 worth of gold/silver from Apmex. Started out OK, my package arrived at a processing center that's about 25miles from my home, then it sat there and sat there. On the 5th day I started making calls, no one could find it so I put in a claim with Apmex.

They said they had to do an investigation and this investigation lasted over 2mnths, all that time I was stressed beyond words as my $3300 was in limbo and there was no guarantee the investigation would go in my favor.

After the grueling 2+ months they finally determined the package wasn't coming (duh). They no longer had the coins I wanted in stock so I couldn't get a replacement, they did refund my money but by now gold/silver prices had gone up so not only was I no longer able to get the coins I wanted but to get an equivalent amount of gold/silver would cost me an additional $140.

Did Apmex offer to compensate me for this - NO, notice tho how they have their "Market Loss Policy" if you make an order and then cancel, must be nice to have your cake and eat it too.

To those of you who like to claim Apmex isn't responsible for the PO in the end what does it matter who's fault it is - bottom line for the customer is this: Order from Apmex, you might get your coins, you might not.

Received my preorder and the 2018 ms70 Krugerrand is full of “milk spots”.The Coin looks horrible and a waste of money.Sorry to see this type of Coin could be sent out.

I received a less than acceptable coin that never should have been shipped to me in the first place. The supposedly BU $5 Gold US Marshall was broken out of the plastic sealed capsule when it arrived and was certainly not a BU class coin. We document and video the opening of every delivery for proof. We notified Apmex and they have failed to respond, blocked my review of what I received and made no good faith attempt to even discuss the matter. Easy to understand the rapid decline in the reputation of this company in the online reviews and social media. The bad reviews are 100% accurate. I would never buy from Apmex again and would never suggest that anyone else buy from this company.

I placed an order on APMEX’s site for three Great Britain Gold Sovereign Avg Circ. When I opened my package, one out of the three coins was in a pretty bad shape. The coin had dings, scratches and was discolored. Out of curiosity I took it to three different places to get an appraisal for a potential future resale value. All three places, two numismatic stores and a jewelry store told me that due to the discoloration, dings and scratches the coin is worth half of what I end up paying for it. I am really disappointed to say the least. I have been a loyal customer for a while but after this incident, I am not sure if I will buy from APMEX again.

I bought eleven 1oz. Deak Perera bars. I recently tried selling them to JM Bullion. JM Bullion tested them and informed me that they were not .999 pure silver. They are sterling silver. Apmex sold these as .999 pure. I have the same bar that is pictured on their website. On 12/8 I contacted them and spoke with Tiffany. She stated that she would pass it on and that I should here from someone soon. I still haven't heard from Apmex. I wonder how many sterling silver bars they sold that they advertised as .999 pure. I'm just trying to get the word out. Thanks

Last purchase of American Eagle Silver BU coins was on May 7 2017. I have been collecting American Eagle BU coins for about 10 years and this is my second time buying from APMEX. It is also the second time I received an American Eagle BU coin with a shield ding on the reverse. The first time was back in 2014 when I bought 10 coins from APMEX. My mistake, I bought again from them in 2017 and received another coin, this time with a bigger shield ding on the reverse. In previous years all my buys were from different sellers and the coins received had zero dings. While it might be just an unfortunate coincidence, I plan to avoid buying from APMEX in the future.

First they said they could not process my order to a P.O. Box, so I cancelled it. Then after they cancelled it, they kept charging my card, Had to call the credit card company to challenge the charge. Buy anywhere else!

When I first started buying in large quantities from APMEX, I feel they were safe, secure and transparent. I will never forget when an APMEX sales rep told me “buying from us is no different than stocks, you can always sell back…..the only difference is that you have to mail it back.”
Since then I have been told that highly in demand coins/bars like Perth 100oz bars and Kooks are “no longer in demand” and we will have to PASS.
Hell, the local pawn shops buy back at a higher price than APMEX….SCARY and SAD
YES, they are selling Monkey Privy kooks at over 30 dollars! But they have too many and will only pay melt!
