They have always acted professionally, shipped my order promptly, and I received what I ordered in good condition. have paid both by credit card and bank draft and all went well. February, 2014 I purchased two Freedom Girl silver bullet silver shield 1 oz and one 1982 Proof Gold British 1/2 Sovereign.
I am very pleased with this purchase. It arrived in a discrete box from an auto parts company. It was taped all the way around to insure that it was not opened in the mail. I received it before the due date.
I am about to purchase 20 silver dollars from this reputable company.

I just completed a transaction with Gainesville Coins and was very satisfied. I purchased two 10oz silver bars and a half oz proof gold round. I was told there was going to be a week wait until they were shipped, but I received them five days later. The items were all in perfect condition. I did get a confirmation email and tracking information by email. I could tell the order-person on the phone was not anything close to a coin expert, but she did accurately detail my order. I did not see these reviews prior to purchase but was surprised to see so many displeased customers. I probably would not have purchased if I did read them. I cannot deny those respondents experiences, or conclude there is possible hyperbole being touted. I can only say that my one & only experience was very good. I would note that the pics on the site are stock photos (as they say), so I would be more concerned as far as purchasing collector type coins as opposed to Bullion. I expect that most people with bad experiences tend to make reviews; but a company should be judged by how they deal with problem orders. Hopefully they will keep up the example they showed with me.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE

This is definitely the worst experience I've ever had ordering online.
I called about 2hrs. after placing my order online because I kept reading the reviews and discovered one that mentioned a COUNTERFIT coin. I didn't bother reading all or even how it was rectified or even if it was. I don't want to have to worry about that and couldn't imagine losing $1200 or more.
So I called and tried to cancel the order. Spoke with someone and they said they couldn't since the order would have already been processed and product readying for packaging. I sent an email after that and only received NASTY, THREATENING emails, telling me how much they could sue in court if I didn't sent the money order by a certain date. It only got more NASTY over the next couple of days.
I ended up sending them nearly $800 to get out of this NIGHTMARE!
These boys are so very bad that when I got the notification they received the money, they sent me information on how to order again...after telling me I couldn't ever order from them again!
Terrible amateurs and it's no wonder one of them went bankrupt in the past. Probably will go bankrupt again if they keep up this VERRY VERRY NASTY, TERRIBLE behavior.

They are the BEST!!!!!!

FINALLY I found a dealer I can trust. I got into the silver market earlier in the year and made my first few purchases from 3 different companies. The metals company in Texas was by far the worst. I stumbled upon Gainesville Coins when I saw a youtube video of theirs. Because I had been so disappointed with my purchases from the other companies I only placed a small order with Gainesville to test the waters. Well i can honestly say i have never been happier. My order arrived really fast, the packaging was secure and discreet and they have the best prices! These guys have gained a new customer for life

I placed two identical silver orders; one with Gainsville Coins and the other with a Pennsylvania company. I received my Gainsville Coin order and placed another order with them two days later. I received both my Gainsville Coins orders before receiving my first order with the other company. I am highly impressed with, and satisfied with Gainsville Coins. I WILL place future orders with Gainsville Coins. I only wish I had a cheaper UPS or FedEx option for the shipping because the USPS is horrible!

WARNING!!!!

About a week after ordering I called and spoke w a very rude woman, Amanda. She indeed was correct, it's their policy to ship "sometime" in the next 2 wks w a credit card purchase. That is unheard of....
I read the FL BBB reviews, 46 complaints in 3 years... now I was getting nervous. Nothing against people w names that I cannot pronounce.. but they all seem to be "shady", and work out of Lutz FL... out of what looks like on google .. a strip mall on the roadside.
I finally got my bar by surprise, I never got an email saying that it was shipped. After taking of layers of strapping tape I found my bar... a secondary market bar. Dinged, dented, and scratched.
I don't like these folks, I didn't for good reason trust these folks and WARN everyone to stay with a company that has a better reputation.

Great Prices, Reasonable Delivery

I made a small purchase from these guys and another bullion dealer as I had read some bad reviews but was lured by the low prices. They warned me that shipping would be delayed and I had to click to acknowledge the delay. My purchase arrived a few days earlier than they first estimated. It was well packaged and was just what I ordered. I have since ordered more and have been very satisfied. As a note, the other dealer still has NOT shipped the first order (over a month since order placed). Gainesville Coins is my preferred provider.

I suppose the good thing is that I didnt waist thousands of dollars like some have, however almost 700.00 was a big enough mistake. Bought a roll of "brilliant and uncirculated" coins that have huge areas on the face of each one where the finish is rubbed off. Customer Service (VERY slow) told me to look it up on the internet because it's a milkly finish which is typical, and that they photo each coin before it goes out and they saw nothing wrong with them. She actually suggested I take my issue up with the US Mint. I bought these for gifts, and cannot give them out becausee they look terrible. You cannot return them, they only tell you there is nothing they can do. I have coins with a "milky" spot or two, these coins look nothing like them. These coins look like someone took steel wool to them. Warning, do NOT buy from these people. I wish I'd read these reviews about this company before I wasted my own money, hopefully someone else can learn from me. No one in their right mind would consider these "brilliant/uncirculated". Please look at other companies first. This has soured me from buying coins on the internet, and I would warn anyone about buying from here.

Buyers BEWARE!!!

Started a Coin collection for my son. I am just a starter invester... We ordered 3 coins...Pandas were great but the Canadian Silver Dollor was damaged on the face just in front of the nose. I contacted Ganesville and questioned the damage. I was told that the Canadian coins have damage on a lot of the coins? I told them that I was not looking for a refund or to send the coin back I just asked them if they would sent another coin thats not damaged and I will purchase the coin if they would pay the shipping...$3.00...I was told no!!! I know that $3.00 is not much but its the fact that They did not stand by their product and I will never buy from them again...Buyer beware...That was my first and last time with GAINESVILLE COINS...

Fraudulent Advertising: Gainesville Coins

Ordered a large (nearly 20K) order from this company for the first time recently. Decided to try them because of their "low" advertised prices, though their ridiculously high shipping costs coupled with the $26 cost for a bank wire make me think twice. (Unlike some other dealers, they won't accept personal checks.) Bad choice. What they sent me included damaged coins, which THEY had advertised on their site as "brilliant uncirculated" and were anything BUT brilliant. These silver eagles, which they said came straight from the US Mint in the condition they were in, have obviously damaged finish. The finish doesn't look anything like other same-year new silver eagles, and these look so bad that I cannot give them as the gifts they were intended to be. Yet Gainesville Coins told me they couldn't allow me to return them, as they were just "bullion", and they couldn't guarantee they could send me anything that looked better...even though they advertise these NEW silver eagles as "brilliant uncirculated." Liars. I told Markham Acosta, the manager, that I will never order from their shady outfit again. Beware of their "bargain" prices.

I have bought from Gainsville over a dozen times in 3 years. Never had a problem and always received what I asked for. This is no knock on the company but I have sometimes had to wait around 10 days for delivery. Gainsville has competitive pricing. They have also worked to broaden their inventory which has been a little lean in the past. Gainsville is my preferred vendor over APMEX. Apmex has a deeper inventory but charges considerably higher premiums

DO NOT ORDER FROM GC

We order about 20 generic silver bars. One of them turned out to be sterling silver art bar. They should've caught it, we just searched online the art and found it right away. We thought, no big deal. We went to a convention they were at and they exchanged it for us for a new round.

We continue to place orders, several times many of the items we ordered ended up not being available and they would call and see what I wanted to replace the items with that was of equal value. Ok, no big deal there, we let that go too.

After studying how to check for counterfeit silver, we ended up finding a counterfeit 1oz silver bar from our 20 oz batch. My husband did the magnet test and it dragged the small magnet. It was a state art bar. (if you have ANY state bars from ordering generic bars from GC, CHECK THEM!) So then he did the acid test and sure enough it was fake. So we talk with them, they tell me they will email me a shipping label and made a point to let me know that if they receive the bar and they find it is real that my CC would be charged for the return shipping and that IF it was counterfeit, they would refund my debit card. I told them I didn't want a refund. I had paid for shipping and bank wire fee at my bank and wanted a bar returned. It was like he didn't hear me. They made sure I knew they highly doubted it was counterfeit and so they wanted to MAKE sure I understand my CC would be charged if I was wrong. After spending over 80k with them, I could NOT believe my ears.

So when I get the shipping label, turns out the same day we received another of ours orders from them from UPS that had been late to arrive (we always paid extra for 3 day shipping, but it ended up not doing any good because they would take weeks to fill the order). This particular order was WAY late coming in, they told us week after week it was because of hurricane Sandy and that some of the gold we ordered wasn't able to get to FL from NY. I argued then why did it say it was in stock when I ordered it online? Anyways, that shipment FINALLY arrived (we had 2 more outstanding orders that had not arrived yet) and sure enough, as I go through the 7 generic 1oz silver bars in the order, I find another state art bar. Immediately it looked weird because the color was a yellow tint. I go grab our magnet and it pulled it immediately. I call them right away, and they say they will check to see if the return slip they emailed me would be good for mailing TWO ounces. They get back to me and tell me it will and that it is insured for the approximately $75 worth of the silver. I was told if indeed the bars were counterfeit, they would refund my debit card for the two bars. AGAIN, I told him, I don't want a refund, I want a replacement. I didn't want to have to pay shipping and not get the bank wire rate (it has to be over $2k order to get that) just to get my bars replaced. AGAIN, they remind me I will charged if these aren't counterfeit, that he was HIGHLY doubtful we would have two bad bars, even though I explained the magnet test and acid test. I videotaped the bar pulling the magnet to email to my husband at work so he could see, he couldn't believe it. So I get the shipping label, and return the silver. This is now THREE bars NOT 99% silver out of a total of 27 1 ounce generic bars ordered.

So we wait and wait and wait. Then we are told that the package was destroyed somewhere in FL and the contents were missing and UPS was doing an investigation into the incident.
By this point, I was pretty sure I was not ever going to order from them again. Unfortunately I still had a few orders I was waiting on.

So I call GC and they tell me that since it was insured, that UPS was going to be refunding them and then they would send us a check after they received the money from UPS! WHAT!? I argued and argued with them that basically they got off with making the money off of us and having no accountability in the matter and lucked out that UPS had lost the items. One girl argued with me that they were paying the $76 dollars to us because they had to pay for the insurance. I told her no, the insurance maybe cost them a few bucks at the most. NO MAKING UP FOR ANYTHING. They could have IMMEDIATELY sent us 2 new bars as soon as we claimed counterfeit and before ever receiving ours, they could have apologized and made things right, instead I felt insulted. I told them how I felt, how after over $80k I couldn't believe they would risk losing a customer and getting bad reviews over 2 ounces. He said, "what more do you want us to do?" I just said, haven't y'all heard of service recovery, it's not like I'm trying to scam two free ounces of you after having ordered a total of over 80k with them in the last few months. Beyond that, I wasn't going to tell them what to do to make it up. I was curious if they would figure it out. I shouldn't have to tell them that as soon as we found counterfeit they should've apologized immediately and immediately sent out 2 new 1 oz bars to make up for it and wait to get ours in the mail to them and not mention ANYTHING about doubting we were correct. They could've bit their tongues and waited to see if we were wrong and then told me they would charge us for shipping, NOT told me that from the get-go and insult me. Mind you, it was always US calling them and waiting on them to call us back, which they hardly do, we were usually having to chase after answers.

I KNOW that they take pictures of everything that comes in and out there because they told me that when they had to investigate if we had indeed gotten a sterling silver bar from them. So I told him he should've easily been able to match up their pictures and information in their files of the bar that I videotaped, but no he said.
I told them I hated that they didn't get the bars because now I can never prove to them they were fake, they think we are wrong, and they got off with no costs to them. I was told that they too wished the contents had arrived because they couldn't believe we would've received 2 counterfeits bars. Just insulting!

So here we are 2 months later. We still have not been refunded for the 2 bars, or had 2 bars sent in replacement. I called them today, and they told me they were pretty sure they had sent a check and would look into it. What do you bet they blame UPS?

We have found that with APMEX we can get the cheaper price over the credit card price, with no minimum order, by paying by check (it's easy just mail a check). Their shipping is cheaper too. Yes it takes time for the check to get to them, and they process it and then fulfill the order, but it really doesn't take any longer than GC depending on what you order might even be faster.

WE WILL NEVER GIVE GAINESVILLE OUR MONEY AGAIN, AND I PRAY THAT THERE ISN'T ANY OTHER COUNTERFEIT PIECES in the orders we have received.

We order about 20 generic silver bars. One of them turned out to be sterling silver art bar. They should've caught it, we just searched online the art and found it right away. We thought, no big deal. We went to a convention they were at and they exchanged it for us for a new round.

We continue to place orders, several times many of the items we ordered ended up not being available and they would call and see what I wanted to replace the items with that was of equal value. Ok, no big deal there, we let that go too.

After studying how to check for counterfeit silver, we ended up finding a counterfeit 1oz silver bar from our 20 oz batch. My husband did the magnet test and it dragged the small magnet. It was a state art bar. (if you have ANY state bars from ordering generic bars from GC, CHECK THEM!) So then he did the acid test and sure enough it was fake. So we talk with them, they tell me they will email me a shipping label and made a point to let me know that if they receive the bar and they find it is real that my CC would be charged for the return shipping and that IF it was counterfeit, they would refund my debit card. buyer beware

I have purchased a far amount of silver over the last few years and the slow shipping was ok with me so long as the price was locked in. My last purchase included a roll of 90% silver dimes that was not all 90% silver, it included a clad dime. OK, we all make mistakes so I emailed them about the problem and a few weeks later still no answer. They pride themselves on customer service. I THINK NOT.

They said they don't keep them in stock and dont have any to sell me unless I order them, then they will order them and ship to me. Guess thats why it takes them a while to fill orders. Their shipping prices are too high, go ahead compare them to others.
Just didnt sound right to me, so I wont be shopping with them. Besides, Merit Gold is cheaper and far more professional.

Use this site if you are buying this year's bullion coins with credit card and you have no cash. Great prices for credit card transactions. They don't whack you with additional credit card fees unlike other sites, just the 3% fee they get hit with using the merchant account. The only complaint I have against this site is the inability to use checks or cash. Sometimes I have the cash in my checking account but since this doesn't have the option I had to go to other sites. For bullion, don't expect the best shiny bars or rounds. Also, the coin pictured with scratches if you are buying numistmatics is the coin you will get.

Very unpleasant experience. Placed an order using credit card. They charged the card and asked to send a duplicate payment using wire transfer due to card 'verification issues'. After wire received, they promised to refund credit card. Hmmm. I was getting a gift in hurry, so I agreed but then they said I also have pay credit card price even though I was now paying with wire at which point I stopped this madness and asked to cancel my order. Two month later, I placed another order for a different item. Received cancellation email next day saying I am not welcome to do business here due to past history. Huh? I would not recommend this dealer and will not buy anything here again... well, it seems that I can't even if I wanted to since I am not welcome.

I ordered on 10/22, paid via bank wire the same day. Got confirmation of wire receipt from GC the following day, with an estimated ship date of 10/31. Today is 10/29 and I just got notice that my order has shipped. I assume it will get here at the end of the week, and I assume it will contain what it is supposed to contain.

Being an order of more than $4000, I was really nervous about sending a bank wire - but everything appears to have gone well. I'll post again if something goes wrong when I get the package.

I wish I had read the reviews here first. They have a nice website and all appears good but the coins are pretty much just cull (worn, scratches and cleaned) okay I was buying bullion, but at least give me a decent looking bullion coin, I complained and got no where, they are worn that bad I suspect they don’t weigh a full ounce either. I had to file with my credit card company to get a refund although with shipping I am $27.48 short and overall had a very bad experience, This has to be the worst gold and silver bullion seller in the United States. A small outfit with a fancy website.

I ordered 21 silver eagles, a copper coin, a NZ mint turtle coin and two empty monster boxes. I got exactly what I ordered, within a reasonable period of time. Much cheaper than APMEX (which refused to even ship empty monster boxes to Alaska for any price). They took 7 days to ship, but I knew that up front (although I don't see why it should take so long). They shipped it all via USPS priority mail for $30. The entire order was about 10% less than APMEX, so can't argue much on price. I definitely plan to order from these guys again. No complaints.

We have ordered several times from Gainsville coins and never disappointed. After reading the trash of the negative reviews and the recurring themes (one recent post stated convincingly they had no showroom!!) we decided to stop by while on recent vacation in Florida. Not only do they have a showroom, but it is extremely nice and the staff are all VERY knowledgeable and professional. We really appreciated the good advice and courteous handling of our visit. Keep up the good work!!!

This was my first gold purchase and Gainsville made it easy. I even asked that they hold the shipment to a specific date before forwarding, and they did exactly as I had asked.

Great coins and service!

I ordered some 2012 silver panda coins and not only was gainesville the cheapest, I got them on the day that they were expected to ship! Don't be fooled by the negative reviews on here. So what if their customer service isn't the best? I called them asking if they were going to have any more in stock and somebody was talking to me in a couple minutes. Is it worth spending more $ to be able to get on the phone with someone right away? Not for me! I requested priority mail shipping and they fulfilled my request... Unlike provident metals who denied my request. Their shipping may be a little on the high side but at least their prices are very low.

Products aren't always the the best

This is the only dealer that has ever shipped me inferior products. I purchased over 1000 ounces this past year. This is the only dealer that sent me products that weren't as advertised.

Excellent Company

Gainsville is a fraud website, they just want to charge 5% on your credit card.

they provides faked bank account so you could not make bank wire success. thus they could charge 5% on your credit card according to their terms. when you put an order using bank wire, you will see what I am talking about.

Fool Me Once....

I'm not wanting to flame a company, but inform consumers about a major FACT. Gainesville Coins isn't really a new company. Please google "National Gold Exchange, Tampa" - the Yaffe's went bankrupt in a questionable way, hosing lenders to the tune of some 35-50 Million dollars. One of the brothers Mark Yaffe built a 28,893-square-foot mansion for $25 Million and during this time and claimed he didn't know where all the coins were. He used the proceeds to build the mansion and crowned the misdeed by cooking National Gold Exchange's books to conceal the exchange, Sovereign Bank said. Turns out these exact same guys own Gainesville Coins and when the bankruptcy went down they were already running it out of the same location and the court had trouble with what gold/silver belonged to what entity. Today, the store is literally 1 block away from the gate to their home community where he still has his "fraud" Mansion. It's amazing how this type of business exists today when all this information is available online but few have read about it. Tulving is another company that has filed bankruptcy 2+ times and was even charged with fraud by the FTC. Gainesville & Tulving are some of the slime of precious metal world - and again, it's all available online for people to research.

This dealer filed bankruptcy under a former name The National Gold Exchange. Our investigation reveals that many people may have been stuck holding the bag. This company's staff are so unprofessional and arrogant individuals that it made my skin crawl. Use Kitco.com at least they have no bad history and more reliable in my opinion.

Disaster

I have ordered from several of the dealers represented on this site. My experience with these guys was by far the worst. I'm not a high maintenance customer, I do A LOT of shopping for A LOT of different things on-line so I know what to expect in most cases. However, if you are going to spend your hard earned money on bullion....pick someone else to buy from. I could go on and on about the time I've wasted and headaches...but I wont. Just do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

I've used Gainesville Coins on at least five different occasions to buy coins. The only problem I've ever had was a slight delay in receiving an email. I have always received my the items I purchased in a VERY timely manner.

I want to compliment Gainesville Coins on their very professional staff. I purchased some 1 oz Gold American Eagles for myself as well as a 1/10 oz Gold Eagle that I was giving to my grandson for his Birthday. As I was going through my package I took out the packing material (or what I thought was packing material). The 1 oz Gold Eagles were awesome! My only issue was that I couldn’t find the 1/10 oz coin. I called Gainesville Coins and spoke to one of their reps. At this point I was in a bit of a bit upset but the rep remained calm the entire time and walked me through checking the box again. He suggested I look at what I thought was just packing material which I threw in the trash and sure enough there was a carboard envelope that contained my 1/10 oz eagle! I felt really dumb and what made it worse was that I completely missed the yellow sticker on the envelope that said coins inside. My eyes are not what they used to be! So overall I just want to say a big thank you to Gainesville Coins. A job well done!

Bought some Silver Eagles and 1 oz Silver Dragon rounds from Gainesville Coins. Paid for order on a Monday and received the order 4 days later. Great service and pricing. I will be using Gainesville again.

Previously wrote that there was no communication from Gainesville coins afer i sent the wire.

Later i learnt the following things.
It seems their computer system automatically supposed to send an email confirmation did not send the email.

I was very concerned that they are not sending me the mail as money received and was little bit panic as the amount is > 50,000 dollars.

After 3rd day repetatively calling and explaining one of the person on the phone i am calling and not getting much luck
two of the employees infact they sent me the mail as the issue was escalated.

To my surprise on the same day they sent me a note saying my package mailed via USPS. i was very thrilled with their response.

Later after 4 days i got my packet,they have done the nested packing and excellent way and package was received very good shape.

TO be honest though i was little bit panic in the beginning, after the package was received i felt very happy that i used gainessville.

I really recommend them 5 stars

Agree with Greg. Been a customer of Gainesville Coins for the past 2 years (used to buy locally before). You are never going to make everyone happy but Gainesville does a great job. Pricing is always good and their traders are very helpful. Keep up the good work!
