My most recent order was for a single special order coin minted on one ounce of silver. Not only did they do a lovely job on it, they got it out to me two weeks early. Very grateful for that. In the past, I have purchased both gold and silver bullion from NWTM. The customer service is stellar. Everything is explained exactly as it is going to happen. Although there is a wait time between purchase and shipment, there is a buy back guarantee so that you do not lose money. I have never had to use that feature. All my transactions have been fulfilled without incident. I will continue to use NWTM as I have found them to be most reasonable in the price per coin fee. Frankly, I had another gold vendor call me and I simply told him I used NWTM as my supplier because of the price per coin fee, and he simply stopped pushing! That in itself says a lot for NWTM.

A silver lining to all this

So my wife and I were thinking to buy a little silver, and we ran across their ad. We ended up making an order and then kind of put it out of our heads because of the agreed-to shipping time. In the meantime however, my wife came across this site and we saw some of the charges and complaints. I kind of got a lump in my throat, you know, the kind you get when you feel like you made a mistake. Even though we did not spend a lot of money on this order, we still wanted to make sure. We called the mint, and were reassured that our order was in process and it will be delivered. We did a little more research about the company, and found out that they are pretty big, and do seem like a legitimate business, so we decided to be patient. After all, we did not feel like we were being given the run-around or anything. Then around the time our order was expected, we got an email mentioning an additional 30 days. Ok, so we called again, and were told that this was part of the terms, and this does happen at times. So we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and wait. Then, 3 days later, our boxes arrived, and everything was in order as it should be. Yes, we were a little unnerved about the long shipping times after reading some of the comments around, but I've got to say, they do mint some very beautiful silver bars and rounds, and the prices were pretty fair. Do I like the shipping times? NO. Would I buy from them again? Yes, I would, but I know what to expect.

Buyer Beware - Dont trust these people

Purchased a Monster Box (500 oz) of Silver American Eagles in Sept. 2014. Was told shipment was delayed several times. Finally in Feb of 2015, called and asked for a refund as it had been almost 5 MONTHS. Told me a refund would be processed and I should get a check within 3 weeks. Called again 4 weeks later. This time they told me the check would go out this week. Called again a week later and again said the check was just cut and would go out today. One more week passed and guess what, gave me the same song and dance, that the check was sent last week. I demanded to speak to a supervisor and finally got in touch with the interim CFO, He told me he had the check in hand and would personally put it in the mail today. I asked him why I was being told that the check was already sent if it was not? He was not sure why but that he would personally be putting it in the mail. He then gave me his direct line and asked that I call him back when I get my check.
With that said, I am holding my breath that this resolves the issue but don't have high hopes.
Buyer beware here. These guys are running a scam where they use your money for free for 5-6 months and then maybe give it back. I can't believe a class action lawsuit has not been initiated yet. This is borderline criminal activity.

Slow to Pay

I sold gold and silver back to NW Territorial. I had to get it in the mail within 4 days or face a 10% penalty. They, on the other hand, took more than a month to get me a check after they confirmed having my gold in hand. The website promised 2-3 weeks. I had to get a loan to cover the debts I sold the gold to cover and pay the interest and loan fees.
The last time I spoke with customer service they said the check was cut on March 25th but when I finally got the check the postmark was for March 30th, hence they lied.
When I purchased my gold/silver from them years ago it arrived in a timely manner.

No Rip Off

You will not get ripped off! Everyone has either gotten their money back (refund or market price) or eventually get their shipment. Yes all the complaints are true. The contract you sign gives them an additional 30 days to ship. I have used them many times and am presently waiting for another shipment. It doesn't matter to me if the silver sits in one of my safes or sits in their safe. As long as I get delivery eventually. I don't like this but if I can save $$ I don't mind the wait. With NWTM you only have to purchase 100 rounds not 500 rounds to get the best price and when they run a special like 75 cents over spot no shipping.... no tax.... no insurance etc. I get the best deal here. I like to keep purchases less than 5k so the bank doesn't report my transaction the the Gov. Privacy is nice. Other wise it doesn't matter to me if the Gov. gets notified. SO with NWTM I can make 100 oz. purchases rather than wait for enough $$ to buy 500oz.plus a little privacy. So if your like me than the wait is only a small inconvenience. Oh by the way..complaining to them won't make them ship any faster so do the time and then call them with your order #...then they will ship or refund.

NWTM Scam- free money!!

I gave the North West Mint $3500 in Nov and every time I call I'm told three more weeks. The did give me one extra coin for my patients. yeah! I feel like this was the biggest scam ever. Also I want my money back now and they told me 3-4 weeks. Walmart can do it in about 2 mins!!! SCAM, SCAM, SCAM.

6 month free cash loan to nwtm

Waited 6 months for my order. Was always told it would be ready in another month. 4th visit. spoke to owner and received substitute boullion. Waste of time. They had free use of my cash for half a year. Ridiculous. Scam.

Do not be foolish like me, do not use NWT mint

I have been using northwest territorial mint for the last 8 or 9 years and have not had a problem until now. I made a purchase in late October and the original delivery date was for Jan. 16th, they pushed it out to Feb. 16th and said if they didn't deliver by then I could either keep waiting or get a refund at either the current market price or the price that I placed my order at. Well since Feb. 16th came and went without a delivery confirmation number I called today to try and get a refund. They put me on hold for half an hour at which time the call transfered back to their main operator. She said that I should leave a message and that they would get back to me. Well I waited all afternoon and they never got back to me so I called back at 230 PM and was told that customer service was "out to lunch" and that they would call me back. I am completly getting the run around and after checking online I'm not the only one. They have had my money since October and while the amount is not life changing it is a large enough

The WORST of the WORST. iT has been very hard for me to accept the fact that I Ordered from this company, namely, Northwest Territorial Mint, without checking on them first.

It is apparent they hold your funds for at least 4 months as procedure, for what ever clandestine purposes, then lie about why they can't deliver.. It is now approaching 4 months since I ordered 500 single ounce silver bars and have now been told they will no make second promised date.

If I had checked, I would have found out that in 2008 they lost a Law suit for their delivery practices . And since then they continue to hold funds and don't deliver. What a Scam.

I will not wait any longer and will get a refund after my 30 day second extension is over. DON'T BUY FROM THESE IDIOTS.

A SCAM

I ordered in June of 2014 and it is now February 2015 and I have not received my order. I called and requested a refund on 1/6/15 and it is now 2/2/15 and no refund. I called again and they said it would be delayed another week due to illness in office staff. This is a scam. Do not ever do business with these crooks.

Heed The Warnings!

Like others, I assumed that the negative reviews were from a minority of customers. Surely, a company with this many bad reviews couldn't continue in business! How wrong I was! I placed a silver order on Sept 8 and received a projected ship window near the end of November. On the final day of the window, I received an email stating that the new ship date would be no later than Dec 29. On Dec 30, I had not received any notification of shipment, so I called and was told that NW Mint needed an additional 4-6 weeks to ship my order. At that time, I exercised my option to cancel my order and receive a full refund. When I was told to expect the refund in 2-3 weeks, I asked them to expedite the refund and was told that my request would be marked urgent. The refund check was issued on Jan 12, and I finally received it on Jan 20. Thus, they had the use of my money for 4 months. NW Mint expects its customers to pay promptly, but they are slow to act on the orders. The only good thing to come out of this experience is that the price of silver dropped during that 4 month period. I highly recommend that you shop elsewhere for your precious metals.

Waiting more than 8 months

Attractive, sweet, seemingly knowledgeable employees repeatedly refer you to others who are unavailable. order placed in July 2014 and now the end of January 2015, it still has not been delivered. Today I was transferred from the receptionist to Erin and then referred to Kim. Kim was unavailable, so my call was forwarded to voice mail. Sadly, before transferring me Erin was able to confirm that they have no complaint policy or procedure(and she claims she doesn't know any company that does have a complaint policy or procedure), they are not regulated by any governmental agency (not even the Dept. of treasury or any banking regulators) and delivery averages 8 weeks. Now, I have to wonder where is my money and what have they been doing with it these past 8 months? If they are making "payday loans" with it, they are averaging 36% interest per week while I wait empty handed except for a paper hand written receipt for several thousand dollars...not even a printed contract, just a hand written receipt...not even a printer generated order confirmation or the email confirmation that was supposed to follow. They advertise their products/bullion is qualified for IRA investments, but they have no government or banking oversight and are not even members of the better business bureau!!! (good News is that they apparently have responded to BBB complaints in the past even though they are not BBB members. More than 60 complaints on record 50 of which were delayed and non-delivery issues)
I would seriously suggest that all potential bullion buyers not buy anything from this company unless it is in stock and they can carry it away with them that day.
How long was it that Bernie Madoff's clients waited before filing complaints about non-delivery??

Avoid NWTMint

It appears that NorthWest Territorial Mint routinely sells products they don't actually have in stock. I purchased some silver on December 1, 2014 and the estimated shipping date is projected as January 23, 2015. If and when I ever get my shipment from NWTM it will be the first and last purchase I make with them. In contrast I have made two gold purchases from APMEX with outstanding results!!! I received each order within 7 days of ordering. I would highly recommend APMEX! Gainesville Coins is pretty good too, but not nearly as good as APMEX.

This company did eventually ship what I ordered. The wait on a ~200 dollar order of silver and gold was about six weeks. The condition of the metal was excellent. The price was great, but the shipping time was too long. There are better options for those who need faster shipping. This was my first precious metal purchase. If I would have researched better, I would have found the reviews that explained the slow shipping. I at least got what I paid for on a "short sale". I bought it and a few weeks later the price dropped, so NWTM made some extra cash by this deal. Good for them. Now I understand how this business works.

Business Practice Questionable

My complaint is about a Business Practice. I signed (created an account) up with Northwest and gave them my basic information and a Credit Card information. I then went to look for several items I was interested in and put them in my basket. I had not completed selecting everything I wanted to purchase when all of a sudden I got a "fraud alert notice" from my Credit Card company. I have a block on my Credit to prohibit an charges less than a dollar charge.

Apparently Northwest Mint charged my credit card .01 cents for no reason.

By the time I got Northwest Mints phone number and called them, I got a 2nd notice saying that they issued a credit for the .01 charge. I then spoke with the receptionist who explained that it was a normal procedure that they charge a person Credit Card to validate that it is a legitimate card. I disagreed with that practice, so she transferred me to sales who then transferred me to "Accounting".

I ended up speaking to their "legal council" who did not even know about the practice and only wanted to research it and get back to me. Needless to say...I told them to cancel my account and did not complete a transaction. I think I saved myself some nightmares.

Respect of employees

I actually walked into their store in Washington State. They immediately took me into an office and a very nice lady started to assist me. I had hoped to buy a lot of silver coins that day but the selection they had on hand was very limited. They said it was due to silver prices being so low. I did manage to buy a few ounces though. The biggest issue I had with my experience was when a man (who I can only assume was the boss) came in. He was very polite to me but incredibly rude to the woman who was assisting me. I don't know if he was trying to impress the customer or what but it made me sick. As far as the product I bought, I would definitely go back. As far as seeing an employee berated by her boss...I think I'll pass. It's amazing anyone is working there based on what I saw.

Believe the bad reviews

My bad. Sometimes you figure the bad reviews were written by the "few" who had a poor experience. I should have believed them. I ordered $500.00 of Washington quarters on 8/4/14. Yes I knew that they even say that sometimes they delay shipments if there is a "shortage". I took my chances and ordered. Within 30 days I got an email saying that the shipment would be delayed till 10/4/14 but they reserved the right to not ship till 11/24/14. Yes these possible delays are disclosed in the small print. Since I had not received confirmation of delivery by 11/23/14 I planned to exercise my right to cancel the transaction and get my money back. What a surprise... I got my confirmation of shipment on 11/24/14. So I am ticked off at all the delays but would live with the whole experience since the quarters were finally on the way. They arrived and guess what...$500 of DIMES. I called them, talked to "Kim" the manager and her response was that they were covered because it is all in the small print. I know the value is the same but I DO NOT BUY DIMES.
I believe they play the "float" with your money and delay as long as they can before being forced to make the delivery and even then it may not be what was ordered. I now purchase from Apmex. They only let you order when they have the product on hand and ship immediately. A class operation. Believe the reviews, the few "good" reviews are the exceptiion.

5/2/2014, I purchased by wire transfer 260 ounces of silver. The silver never arrived. So I began speaking with Kim, their designated liar. For the next five months Kim proceeded to tell me that silver availability world wide is down; they are waiting for another shipment and they are behind in production. After five months of the same song and dance I cancelled my order. You see, in the last five months I have made four other purchases of the same size from other mints without a problem! Kim told me that I would have my check in a matter of a few days, two weeks later she is still giving me the run around. Just spoke with her and she tells me it takes 10 days for a letter to go from Washington State to Texas. Such BS, these people need to be taken to court by a class and let them explain their criminal business practices to the class and the judge!
In my opinion, these people are Criminals !

When I bought my silver from them I kept getting delays(took forever) I belived them when they said they were behind.shame on me.just sold them some back I was told 2 days after they recived the silver my check would be in the mail.8 days after they recived the product still no check so I called they had not even mailed it yet.Same excuse as buying( were behind) all they do is take your money and product and hold on to it to use and make money off of.Do not trust this company there are to many reputable ones out there.Will absolutely never buy or sell to them again

Low Mark-Ups on Eagles

Bought some silver eagles in 2013 - they arrived as expected, in excellent condition. The markups over spot were pretty good, but I have since discovered that they also sell their own minted line of silver bullion, which is even better than what the US Mint offers.

When I first started buying silver, I would almost exclusively go with eagles or maple leafs because I simply did not look at the other options - namely rounds. After all, silver is silver, and that is what the spot price is based upon.

The folks here have always been great, and I know that they stand behind their product.

I have placed several orders with NWTM, have been generally satisfied except for shipping delays. Even that was not too bad, they would delay shipping for 1 period and ship it on the new schedule. This most recent order, though, I am on my 4th order shipment schedule. They say they'll buy back if they don't ship on time, but I don't really want to do that, I want my oder!
I even at one time wrote a generally favorable review, with the exception of the shipping thing. I don't know what their problem is, are they selling stuff they don't have? After this experience I will never buy from them again and probably will never sell to them either.

Just received notice today that fed ex has picked up the order. After placing my third order and was getting the run around about shipping I started reviewing the company. Found out that the AG took them to court on Sept of 2008. N w mint had to pay a total fine of $58,763.49 to settle just what they are still doing, using your money and my money to make money before shipping what we have ordered.
Beware, read ALL the reviews before thinking about buying from this company.

On April 10, 2014, I ordered a 100-oz silver bar. It is now August 4th (almost 4 months) and I am told that it will be another 3 weeks before shipping will occur. Customer service has been good but I still don't have my shipment. One day it will arrive without any problems, but best to avoid NWT mint unless you fully expect to wait 4 months for it too arrive.

But after my order was paid for I got a bad feeling and did some more research into their business practices and got a little scared. My bullion was supposed to ship in 60 days or less but on the 60th day I received an email saying "because of higher than normal order volume" my shipment would be delayed another 30 days. This is standard practice for NW Mint I'm finding out. I just got my order on the very last promised day (90 days from order) and everything is exactly as I was promised. If you don't mind waiting a while to get your metals then the almost spot prices are a good deal.

From the loads of revolving orders...NWTM has another business with guaranteed return..like a payday loan or title loan co.,with a 25%-40% gain, guaranteed, & by revolving their deposits...with a 90-120 day delay....they can operate with millions of dollars of no-interest money....my money & yours.

I suspect this is a fairly recent greed scheme....Someone figured out how to cash in....but at the expense of their reputation. They do not care however...the cash is just too good.

I gave them 10K+...& the sickness in my stomach...now....isn't worth it. May the Attorney General visit these scammers....& come down hard on them...possibly forcing them to pay interest on all orders over 2 weeks.

I am only in my second delay...90 days out....& as the multitudes have said.....My fault...I jumped too quick.

I've been trying since the beginning of May to get a custom coin from these guys. I've been told REPEATEDLY that I would get an email the next day but never received it. I've emailed several times and gotten no response. When I call, I'm told to email the info again and then promises are made. Still nothing. I gave up and am trying another company. I've been trying since the beginning of May to get a custom coin from these guys. I've been told REPEATEDLY that I would get an email the next day but never received it. I've emailed several times and gotten no response. When I call, I'm told to email the info again and then promises are made. Still nothing. I gave up and am trying another company. Apparently these guys don't need the business.

I have made 4 orders with nwt. The first two were through the online store for various items like the silver bullets and smaller bullion. At the time the small orders did not qualify for the bullion department.

The first of the two online store came in quick. I received a notice that it shipped early. This was around Jan 2014. The second order was delayed twice but I was only notified the first time. When they missed the second ship date I called and they apologized. That second order didn't ship for another 3 weeks. Each time I called the online store girls were very polite and helpful. If I had a question that related to bullion I was transfered to that department....they were always short with me and rude.

The next two orders were placed online through the billion department. The first order was made 4/8/14. Was delayed multiple times however I was never notified via email. I would log into my account to check the status. First est ship date was 6/13. Finally shipped 7/11 (over 3 months after the order was made and all payments verified did it finally ship)

Second online bullion order was made 4/18. Received an email notice that it is delayed and will not possibly ship till 7/21 to 7/25... Again 3 months after the order was placed and payed for.

Would I shop there again-- yes but I understand it would take a very long time to get the product. Best of luck buying and understand there will be a long delay

Order delays

This company is ridiculous. I placed a very modest order. After the order was placed I was told it would be 21 business days before it shipped. Just before this period ended, I was told it would ship in another 31 days. So they have my money but I don't have what I purchased. Don't sell what you can't ship immediately or give me an agreed upon price an charge me once the order ships. I can even get a full refund. This is a scam.

Only Buy If You Can Not Find ANYPLACE ELSE!

BUYER BEWARE! I do a lot of on line buying and I spent over 38 years as a customer service technician that was trained to always make that customer feel important. This place is absolutely the pits! They have no concept of customer service which means they have not thought about taking care of the paying customers, whatsoever! BTW, just a cursory check on the web and you will find better pricing from other vendors that will ship asap as they really have the product in stock.

My fist order (of two) to this sorry group was placed on 5/17/14. I here nothing other than the confirmation of order (same day) and then I wait. After this order I make one more on 6/5/14. Mind you now, I have heard nothing on the 5/17 order! Finely!!!! I here something from this company. On 6/18 I get a notice from FedEx that the company has shopped to me. But, there is absolutely nothing to indicate what or which order! I email them twice and get zero answer. On 6/25 I get my first order so at least I know what was shipped and what was not. Folks, I was in the customer service business for my entire career and this junky group is the worst I have ever seen. Just look at all the negative comments from so many. WE ALL CAN NOT BE WRONG! The very few positive comments, well, it appears that is shill people that must be on the payroll.

MY Mistake

I Will Never Buy From These Folks Again!

I have made two orders in the past month from these folks. I got confirmation the orders were made right away and of course, my CC got charged right away. Time goes buy and I hear nothing on the first order then more time and I actually get am email from them saying the second order is "delayed" because of the amount of business they have going on. Then I get an email (from FedEx) telling me NWT has sent me a package. Of course, there is no reference whatsoever as to which order this is. But the email did have an email address for someone at NTW. I have twice emailed to find out exactly what is coming and what is not. I have not heard back a word! So, if you want to buy silver from someone that is lightning fast to charge, molasses slow to send, and has zero when it comes to communications and customer service, these are the people you want to deal with. On the other hand, if you have reasonable expectations on shipping and service, FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO BUY FROM! I will never, ever buy from this company again!

Learn from My Mistake

I ordered 500 Oz in January with a promise ship date no later than April 25. Only then did I read the reviews about this place and got really worried. I doubted whether I would ever get the silver or see my money again. Very stressful. Three months later they delayed the shipment 30 days. Thirty days went by and I heard nothing from the company. A few days later I called during lunch and was put on hold for over half an hour and finally had to hang up. I called again after work and explained I had already waited on the phone once that day and since it was my second time calling could I move to the front of the que? I thought the lady was rather rude and told me "NO, many people today are calling for the second time today" trying to get through. After a very long wait a nice lady answered and said my shipment was delayed and this time they could not give me a new date. I asked for a refund. She said they would send the check within two business days (pretty good). A week later I was still pretty worried and called again. She said the check had gone out yesterday. So four and a half months after placing my order thankfully I got my money back but they obviously sold something they did not possess nor could they get ahold of it. Learn from my stressful mistake. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY.

I bought 150 silver coins and after you submit your order, they tell you its going to take 2 to 3 months to get your order. after 3 months, they told me its going to be another month delay in an email.
I finally got my order after 4 months. Unbelievable !!!! I will never buy from them again.
Save yourself a headache and don't buy from NWT Mint.
I started using goldsilver.com and I get my order within 2 weeks after my check clears.

In one instance, I made a little back when the price of silver went up above what I paid, but that was awhile back. Their customer service is pretty helpful and professional if you reach out to them and let them know your situation.

Stay Away....You Can Do Better Elsewhere

Three months passed since they cash my check. So I call four times and keep getting put on hold. Am told no one is available to speak with me concerning my order. One person did call me back later in the day and told me my order "would be shipped after the weekend".

I believe NW Terr Mint uses customer funds to take advantage of market fluctuations for their benefit over a three to four month period. Look at their "agreement" as the terms are stacked. The BEST a customer can hope for is a full refund. My jury is still "out" as also is my money. This Company smells to high heaven.

If you want accompany to hold your money interest free for over 4 months. Lie about ship dates then avoid you this is the company for you. I will never deal with these scam artist again. Twice they promised delivery. The dates came and went. Then when you try and ask they put you on hold for hours, don't respond to your email and give an attitude when you get through. Now, hopefully, I'm getting my money back. Although I wouldn't bet on a speedy return. I'll probably have to contact my attorney to straighten this disaster out.

I think most of the comments on here are far too harsh. I have ordered from N.W.T.M. several times and find their products and packaging/presentation to be excellent when it finally arrives. I do agree that the shipping time is too long. I think they do themselves a discredit by this but it is the only complaint that there is. Their staff and telephone people are excellent. They are not at all difficult to deal with. I would certainly order from them again. Just be patient.
