In these times of political (almost) chaos, I decided it might be time to put a little money away in a precious metal. Gold is something that would hopefully retain some value (opposed to a nations currency).
After reading online reviews I selected the U. S. Gold Bureau. Joseph is my “go to” sales specialist.
During the past three months, I have purchased several thousand in gold; both bullion and investment coins. The prices are about the same or less than other gold dealers but what has impressed me is the service I have received from Joseph. I have never felt pressured into purchasing anything more than what I stated I was interested in. No harassing phone calls or emails. When I have called and left a message or sent an email Joseph was always quick to respond. When there was a problem with an order being mistakenly canceled (things happen), one call to Joseph, the problem was resolved and my order was rushed to me in half the time.
I am very satisfied with my dealings with USGB and my sales rep Joseph.

Callan Ihde Does it Again!

I initially came to Callan and US Gold Bureau a little doubtful because I had not previously done business with them. But, Callan immediately made me feel at ease, as though I could proceed right ahead with my purchase without any problems or fears on my part. And that is exactly what transpired. I wanted silver eagles. Callan informed me of a better buy but when I told him we wanted the silver eagles he did not pressure me, but proceeded to give me exactly what I wanted. He told me average wait time for delivery was two to three weeks. When I demurred at the amount of time for delivery he complied and we received our product within only two to three days. I was greatly relieved. Not only did Callan and US Gold Bureau have the lowest price for what we wanted, Callan made the entire process as easy and enjoyable as it could be. I would highly recommend Callan and US Gold Bureau and I plan to do business with them/him again at my next purchase of precious metals.

First time buying gold and silver

Callan Ihde helped me with several orders. He was patient and informative. Honestly, I do not know if I paid too much or not. But I did put my trust in Callan. Regardless if I over-paid, I have the metals and love them.
Delivery is very very slow and that bothers me. Otherwise, I am pleased and would order with Callan again.

OK but slow ship

Ordered on October 10th with funds directly deducted from my checking account on October 13th. As of October 24th no product has been received and there has been no notification of shipment. Did business with them earlier in the year and it took a lot of calls and emails to get them to ship back then as well, so this appears to be their business model. This will be my last order with USGB.

Do not buy from this company. They used the same ploy on me. I placed my order on 08/19/2016 and they held it for over three week until the price of gold went up and then informed me that my order had been cancelled but that I could re-order at a higher price. They said that it was cancelled because they needed my SSN. They also tried the hard sale tactic push to try to get me to buy proof coins at an extremely high price.

Since I no longer trusted the company, I was relieved that the order was cancelled. After the order was confirmed as cancelled, I placed the same order with Provident Precious Metals. The order went through the same day and I received shipping confirmation the next day. I also did not have to give them my Social Security Number. Makes me nervous what a scam company like this would do with my SSN.

I have been doing business with USGB for over 3 years now. And I have read the other comments made, good and bad, but I have not had any awful experiences with them. Yes, a few minor bumps, but they were all worked out. I find the people I have dealt with are very polite, discuss with me my purchases and have been helpful in advising me in my purchases. We have all seen the commercials about doing everything to keep from talking to a financial advisor. We were those people even though we are commissioned salesmen. We called the U.S.Gold Bureau and spoke to Arnold Cortez who answered all of our questions, gave us facts and info with patience not the pressure. He did not hound us with follow up calls. He let us absorb the info and let us make an informed decision. Then he put us in contact with Ron Baxter to help us with another question. There again the same professional handling of what we needed. Both of these gentlemen told us exactly what would happen and it was exactly that way, form the order, to shipping, to us getting what we ordered. They advised us as though the money was theirs as well as ours. We rate USGB at 5 stars from start to finish.

Too smart not to buy here

I say that because I am fairly new to this investment process, I have learned that I can count on the information given to me and I am never pushed into a sale I am not comfortable with. Arnold really knows his stuff and takes the time to discuss questions I have. US Gold Bureau has gained my trust and with that all of my business. They know the value of customer service. My first conversation came when Arnold called to question one of my purchases. I was so grateful because he explained my options, exchanged my purchase with a better choice and along with that, saved me money. What could be better? My husband and I decided to purchase some precious metals but we had no clue where to purchase them from or what exactly to get as a first time buyer. We contacted several very large well known companies. I felt like they couldn't be bothered with my $10k investment. They all hurried me off the phone and said they would send me a booklet to read but that I better act fast as the prices change daily. Then I called USGB and was lucky enough to get Tylor Platt. He took his time explaining everything to me. The different proofs; the buy back guarantee; the payment options;expectations and ultimately what he would recommend that we buy and the financial reasons. The man is great. He returned emails and phone calls quicker than I expected. This company may not be well known on TV but they are the ones I will buy from in the future . USGB did a great job of completing my order after a thief somewhere in the shipping chain stole the shipped coins twice and all I received was a ripped open empty box from FedEx (I suspect that the thief was one of FedEx's employees). Not only did they ship the coins three times at their cost but also did a wonderful job of keeping in contact with me the whole time so I knew what was going on. USGB has a lifelong customer in me and I would recommend them to anyone that is looking for the type of products that they offer. Great Company

Deceitful practice

Ordered Royal Canadian mint 10 oz silver bars and paid the higher premium but received the cheaper generic 10 oz silver bars which on their own site were selling for a significantly lower premium . No explanation given and not even refunded the price difference . No reply to my email regarding the issue :

Switch in pricing

My recent purchase experience was the worst yet..Made a purchase from the website after verbally confirming availability and price of item. US gold bureau sent confirmation email. They disclose a "all sales final" in their purchase policy. My credit card company confirms the funds were transferred to USGB. 3 days later, Tyler from USGB calls me to say I owe them another $800 more before they'll ship out the coin I purchased. He explained their website was not updated properly and the wrong price was printed at the time of my purchase. This is after I told him I spoke to a representative inquiring about the price and availability of this coin before I made the purchase. Had they told me the website pricing was incorrect and the coin was $800 more, I wouldn't have gone through with the purchase. USGB customer service calls me and tells me their website has price "anomalies". If you can't trust their website and representatives on providing the correct price quote, who can you trust? They said they'll refund my credit card...I hope! Caution all future buyers!!!! Watchout for bait and switch!!!

USGB customer service calls me and tells me their website has price "anomalies". If you can't trust their website and representatives on providing the correct price quote, who can you trust? They said they'll refund my credit card...I hope! Caution all future buyers!!!! Watchout for bait and switch!!!

Nothing but problems

Placed an order for 75 oz of silver. Paid by electronic funds transfer through my checking acct. Got a call they needed to verify my address and needed last 4 digits of my soc sec #, which I refused to provide. Salesman said he try to verify address. Why this was an issue is unknown to me, was only told they had to prevent fraud. How there would be any fraud when I was paying in advance was unknown to me. Never had someone from a web site ask for soc sec #. A week goes by, get the same call, still can't verify address. I did move just over a month ago, but I offered to send a copy of my driver's license with my current address. This was not acceptable to them, they only wanted my soc sec #. Had to cancel the order. In the meantime, silver had gone up 5%

Best Place to Buy Gold

My decision to purchase precious metals brought me to US Gold Bureau due to their selection of coins and bullion was outstanding . But after I had made my decision on my purchase I looked to see how it would be delivered. To my surprise it was coming by mail, I said to myself "Mail.” Well I went through with the transaction being a little worried about delivery but I said to myself it's insured. Well a few days went by and then the day came, I had my package from U.S.G.B in hand, no problem with delivery as I was over thinking, everything came AAA ok. As you can tell, this was my first time buying precious metals through the mail. I was so happy with my decision to buy & trust this company with my dealings that I will not hesitate to buy from them in the future. I feel I will have a long relationship with them from here on out.

Unethical practices

Legitimate Company But Slow Delivery

I placed an order with this company in August after emailing them for information. First let me say that they are indeed a legitimate and licensed precious metals company and I did receive what I ordered. I've heard many bad things about this company that don't seem to make sense or are just flat out untrue. But based on my experiences, I can see why some may complain about certain aspects of this company.

Sales and Marketing - Yes, their emphasis is to get you to buy certified coins as an investment. Yes, the sales folks will make a better commission if you buy these coins with a higher premium. My first experience was with a salesman (they call them agents) was a hard upsell attempt at certified gold coins costing $5000 a piece. I previously told this man that I was interested in silver American Eagles, and yes I got frustrated. I called back and asked for a different agent and got one that actually listened to me and what I wanted after I made it perfectly clear that I did not want graded coins. I am a silver stacker. Silver stackers aren't interested in graded coins; especially graded gold coins. Once I made my investment interests PERFECTLY clear, then we made some progress and I ordered what I wanted to order. I explained to my new agent that I was not going to be a high dollar investor but I would be a consistent investor if treated right, and I have been ever since. If you don't want the upsell, just get straight to the point and say no. You're the customer. To her credit, the second agent was awesome.

Their silver prices are some of the best out there with regard to their premiums over spot. They are consistently cheaper than Apmex.com and ProvidentMetals.com. The main draw back to this company is their horrendous $15 shipping charges. Why anyone would pay that, I don't know. I am fortunate in that I live in Austin, Texas where the company is and what is not advertised is that you can request to go in person to pickup your order. Just make an appointment with your agent once your order comes in. I must say that going in person to pickup my order was an experience. Even though I made an appointment and they knew I was coming, I was still challenged at the front door to their lobby before I could even ring the door bell. They have a secure facility so I wasn't going to be barging in unseen. This tall, grey haired man in a pink shirt challenged me at the door and asked me what I wanted. I told him I was there to pickup and order. At first he didn't seem to believe me, but eventually let me in once I told him the name of my agent. If USGB reads these reviews, I suggest a friendlier greeting. I understand security but you ARE a business that entertains clients. Don't make them feel like intruders. However, once I met with my agent, everything was fine and the bullion I ordered was awesome!

Be patient when you order. It takes 2-3 weeks to get your order. I didn't mind waiting since my price was locked in. I have also seen some clients complain that they are made to sign for their orders when it is shipped. To me that's the dumbest complaint I've heard. That's extra security for you. If you're driving distance, pay by e-check and go in person to pickup your order. You save LOTS on overhead. One major goal of precious metals buying is to get it as cheap as you can.

All in all, I give USGB a decent rating for most things except shipping time. But I knew that going in. In conclusion, yes, they emphasize graded coins as an investment and will offer those to you on the phone. Some of their "motivated" agents will try hard to upsell you. Hang up the phone or ask for someone else who will listen to what you want.

I read some of the other reviews and I don’t think many of them are fair, and it also seems that many of the people don’t understand the difference between ordering gold and silver online vs. regular consumer items. I’ve done over $400,000 worth of business with this company, and I have made a significant profit based on their recommendations. They also kept me from making a few mistakes that I would have otherwise made had I not spoke with them when I first got into investing in gold and silver. I read one of the reviews where the person was upset because they “had to sign for the package”. Hello? There is potentially tens of thousands of dollars in value in that FedEx box. And, you’re questioning whether or not you should have to be home to sign for it. Really? The U.S. Gold Bureau always informed me that I would need to be present to sign for my package. This is a well-run company, I will continue to do business with them and recommend them to others.

Must sign at home to receive

I ordered from this company on ebay and my shipment was sent by FedEx with a tracking number. When the shipment arrived FedEx left a notice on the door that I must sign to receive the shipment. So I thought I could just call FedEx and have it held at the local hub and pick it up there. So FedEx tells me that the way this company ships you must sign for it at the address that it is shipped to. This means I have to miss a day's work to stay at home to sign for a package? I received an e-mail from Rhonda at US Gold Bureau that said "I can put in your file for future reference that you want your shipments to be held at a Fedex hub, but unfortunately, it is against my company policy to change the trajectory of your package once it leaves our facility. If you cannot retrieve it the three times Fedex tries to deliver it, it will be sent back to us and we will make sure to note that in your sales record." I ordered from them again and the same thing happened. Otherwise, I was happy with this company, but I can't take a day off work to sign for a package.

Don't go for it!!!

I have order 100GR gold from this site on Apr 10 2015. I even received a Order confirmation email.
I gave it a week time to look at my bank account to see the status of the order.

Nothing has happend and I call them immediately. The person I spoke to is Tyler.
I asked him the status of the order. He says the transaction didn't go through bcoz my address of the bank account and the shipping address doens't match. So the order has been cancelled.

I never received a cancellation email nor my address is different.
When I asked him why didn't they contact me and ask me for a wire transfer when the transaction haven't gone through when they have my number and email information..,,,
Most importantly,,, I told him I never received a cancellation email...

That's when he mentioned he is cancelling it while he is talking to me on phone.

My intentions were to order 1/2 oz of gold, I called to change to a different coin ( still 1/2 oz).Talked with Tyler who did the same as other reviewer, laid on the HEAVY sales pitch of Proof coins , told him my intentions were to by half ounce of gold. I got a 2014 1/4 oz. proof coin which I paid too much for. Rookie mistake, as I do know the difference between BU & certified coins, although this was my first gold purchase. Should have stayed with my original order, I would be happier if I made the wrong choice all on my own instead of letting someone else talk me into something I really didn't want and probably won't make my money back on. I sent back their " how did we do " card and have not received any sort of reply.

Big Time RIP OFF!!!

Sales Rep was very nice and "VERY INFORMATIVE" especially for a newbie like myself. Of course I have nobody to blame except myself. I am easily in the hole $5k+ on my investments due to my own stupidity and ignorance. DON"T FALL FOR THE COIN SET OFFERS THEY ARE A PURE RIP OFF!!!!! Hopefully in 20 years my investment will be worth something.

I have made multiple purchases from the U.S. Gold Bureau and Ben has been extremely helpful. I have purchased high end gold sets as well as silver and gold coins. Ben has been there to explain the different types of products and helped me understand the value based on scarcity and coin ratings. I have been extremely satisfied with the products received. Con Vinced To Order assured best price SCAM!!

Well the sales people are very persistent and have there script down pat to CON Vince you into ordering their product stating that they have the best price on the product. While I was in the process of placing the rder through their very convincing Salesperson I later found the smae Identical set at APMEX a reputable company at $1225.00 less. Of course they have no after hours C/S . They try to convince you they are giving you the once in a lifetie opportunity while they are screwing you. Then they have this double talking confirmation system that isnt worth the efforet. It is Federal Law that you have 3 days to rview any contract or order . SO I will instruct my bank to not process the check if they do not meet the price of apmex 44225.00 opposed to their special discounted price of $5400,00

Outastanding company!

I had a wonderful experience with US Gold Bureau in making a IRA transfer after researching all the other "recommended" companies one finds online. Understanding anyone can flood the internet with outstanding reviews, pages of them, but trace them back to their URL.
As to "not doing my homework before purchasing" as in one review I think it speaks for itself. Forehand knowledge of bullion and graded coins is a must before purchase... a Mint State vs. a Proof. rarity, population... provenance. A once of gold is an ounce of gold, you are not buying the wrapper, picture or holder unless dealing in numismatic value which should always be graded before purchase and again know the differences.

I had the pleasure of dealing with Dustin at U S Gold Bureau who was not only very polite not at all
pressuring and was extremely knowledgeable. I had the pleasure of several long talks about coins with him and within one day all the IRA requirements and paperwork were completed as was the transfer.
For one to say "almost got ripped off for $1800"... "doing my homework after the purchase" speaks for itself.
Almost counts in what?... Horseshoes and hand grenades... and oh yes... Atom bombs.
In contrast to that almost $1800 loss U S Gold Bureau saved me over $1500 with a 3% over spot price while other premier services were asking a whopping 10% over spot.

The next day I even received a call from Mr. Ferris, the Chairman of U S Gold Bureau thanking me for my business and asked that I call him directly if I needed anything else. Who else does that today?

Before slandering a good group of people do your homework first, use any of the two major coin grading services price guides, Ebay is a great resource also and educate yourself.

Companies having pages of great reviews and no negatives along with flashy ads with celebrity
endorsements makes me suspect.

So go with flashy at 10% over spot and I will always purchase from US Gold Bureau and their sister company Wholesale Coins Direct at 3% over spot.

Thank you Dustin for the long talks we enjoyed and thank you Mr. Ferris for taking my small business to heart.

BEWARE!!

US Gold Bureau is a big scam, that almost ripped me off $1800. Didn't do my homework fully until after I made an order, and called quickly to cancel in literally 10 minutes. We'll see if I have to call my bank to put a stop on any funds that continue in spite of my request to cancel. Jeff Cotney is the guy I dealt with.

Annoying Sales Calls from this company...

Let me clear - I never purchased anything from this US Gold Bureau. I was seriously thinking about buying from them, but I found better pricing elsewhere. However, I did set up an account with my name, address, and phone number. BIG MISTAKE! I receive a call from them at least once every two weeks. An annoying sales call - when I finally realized they were not going to stop, I asked the girl to take me off her list...and she continued to try to sell me. "Don't you want to protect your assets?" was the line of questioning. Yes, from the likes of your company.

Gold Bar

Hi,
Recently I bought a 100grms gold bar from US GOLD Bureau. I ordered the bar on 12/12/13. When I ordered the bar I've been told that I'll receive the bar in 15 days. On 12/23/2013 I've raised help desk ticket (GMJ-84894) with US GOLD Bureau asking for the status of the order.

Then they come back and said they require my Social to process my order, immediately I've provided the same. I am really upset with this as they've not even bothered to contact me if they have insufficient information. They only respond if the customer is asked for status.

I received my bar on 01/12/2014 i.e. after 1 month. That to it is not matching with the portrait shown from their web site. In the site they have "The Perth Mint" but I received "Succie" bar. I was upset with this kind of change also felt very depressed.

With grateful sorrow I am making this complaint so that other customers will not be cheated like me. One thing I noticed is they deliver the gold bar when the price has come down after I order.

I Love this Company!!

I shopped around and spoke with several companies. This company was the nicest to deal with and they explained the basics of investing in coins really well. I feel like I am an educated consumer and can actually hold my own in a conversation about gold investing. I am also glad that i took the advice of my rep and diversified my portfolio. That is a saving grace right now! After my experiences with other companies, I am pleased with my choice! Everything was as described, from my coins to the shipping time.

Shady Company

I ordered online from these guys and wired the money within a few hours. They called the wrong number to confirm the order with me and then did not return my messages. When I got into contact them days later, the price of silver had gone higher and they wanted me to wire them more money to cover the current price. They would not honor the price of the objects at the time that they received my wire. Find a gold vender with some honor. Not these guys
