Bait and switch
I purchased 2 gold coins on 6/13 and paid for them with my AMEX Credit Card. I received a confirmation of the order and then a receipt for the purchase.on 6/13. On 6/14 Blanchard and Company called me and told me that their website had a mistaken price and that they would not send me the coins. They offered to waive the 4% credit card fee and send me the coins for a much higher price than I paid on 6/13. Today they submitted a refund to my credit card because they would not ship the coins to me. I am not satisfied with the integrity of this firm and recommend that you do not purchase from them. This format makes it impossible to award this firm with anything less than 1 star. They do not deserve 1 star.

scammers
Overpriced coins. When I went to sell, all my coins were worth less even though gold had gone up over $300 per ounce.
Don't trust them. They will pretend to be a friend and pretend that these are good deals. Don't give in to the repeated contacts to sell you overpriced coins.

Unsavory characters-avoid
This review is for Blanchard's dealings over several years with my father in law when he was in his very late 80's. They took advantage of him in every way possible, sold him overpriced coins, churned his account and talked him into unnecessary and unwise purchases. Generally, based upon my review, they marked up sales to him by 30-100% over wholesale. No one should do business with Blanchard.

WARNING!!!
I sold back 40 silver coins I purchased from Blanchard several years ago. What I did not know was that I would have to wait 3 or 4 weeks to receive my check. Why? Because the customer rep says that "Blanchard"must first sell the coins before I get paid! Never again will I do business with Blanchard. There are numerous other precious metal dealers online whom will pay you by wire or check within 2 business days after receiving your shipment.Never, ever, sell to Blanchard!!!

High Commission , ignore after sale
I bought 17 St Gaudens in 2009 when gold was $950. The premium on the coins was so high, I would still lose money if I sold them when gold was $1700.

BEWARE OF BLANCHARD
Beware of Blanchard and company.
Excessive commission s and fees.
Do not buy their sales pitch. If you are in the market for gold bullion do your reasearch. Many other places to purchase gold at a reasonable price.
DO NOT BUY THEIR " RARE COINS" Nor their gold coins.
Stick to bullion because whatever they sell you really has absolutely NO value above what gold spot is.
BEWARE OF BLANCHARD AND COMPANY.

Accumlation Program a big rip-off
I ended up paying over 400.00 more for Gold American Eagle through the accumilation program. They charge shorage fees when they are not storing anything. Big big rip-off

After dealing with Blanchard for a couple of Gold/Silver purchases, I have hit a stumbling block.
My wife did not previously have a self-directed IRA so we used the trustee that Blanchard 'likes to do business with.'
Now that I have some money to invest in Gold/Silver, I wish to use the trustee who has my existing self-directed IRA, whom I have been with for several years and who supervise a non-traditional IRA investment of mine that is worth several times what I am trying to invest in Gold.
Blanchard however, is balking at allowing me to use them as my trustee.
I have reviewed the process that IRA Services enumerates on their website. Simply, they ask for an investment direction form signed by me, and an invoice from the dealer. They pay the dealer from that. So it looks like the process is not rocket science, especially for a big name like Blanchard.
Therefore it makes you wonder why they are so in love with Gold Star (and perhaps one other company whose name escapes me)????
