I am a recent collector to the bullion world but by no means a "small" collector. So far, and this is five orders now of varying items and monetary worth, I have not had any issues and verified each item independently upon receipt. So I have no idea where the other reviews are coming from but a 15 day wait on bullion is SHORT. I waited, on average, 21 days from JM Bullion and over 35 days on average from Gold Bureau and others. So I have zero idea about the other reviews, only going by RECENT, REAL, and BONA FIDE orders placed.

An honest precious metals dealer is worth their weight in gold. I've had some really awful experiences with some shops and dealers, so I absolutely appreciate how great GEC is. You also have to realize that they are a small shop, not a bullion warehouse like some of their online competitors, so their shipping and handling is going to be slower and more expensive. The S&H fees and delays are listed on their website. Sorry, in this day and age you have to accept a long delay if paying by check. I really don't get the outrage in some of these negative reviews. In order to add an item to your cart, you have to click a button right next to a list of prices of the item with different forms of payment (cash, CC, PayPal, and now Bitcoin). Pretty hard to miss. It's not like they sneak in the higher price for credit cards when you aren't looking. One issue I do have with their UX is that, once items are added to the cart, the price in your cart assumes you're paying with cash, then updates when you choose a payment method at checkout. I don't consider this dishonest at all, as you don't decide which payment method you're using until you check out, so there is no way to avoid this given the current setup. Maybe some of these negative experiences could be prevented if they asked what your method of payment was going to be before you put stuff in your cart, so they can display the correct price in the cart rather than having it change when you go to check out. Regardless, my experiences with them both by mail and in person have been great.

I made every purchase in person and can honestly say that they are the most trustworthy group of folks I have ever met. Their shop on Cherry lane became too small and they had to move to the new facility. Same high quality same high service just in a new nicer location. The buying experience was pretty easy and once I mailed my check I was excited to get my coins. It was then that I found out after they received the check, I would have to wait 15 days. After waiting the 15 days, it still was not marked as shipped. I'm still waiting for my product and very disappointed with this process. I will not buy from here again.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! THEY SIT ON YOUR MONEY AND DON'T MAIL PRODUCT FOR 15 DAYS!!! Mailed Bank's Cashier Check for order... they have the right, per their "policies", to sit on the money for TEN DAYS! The thing is that they don't just hold it for ten days. THEY HOLD IT FOR 15 DAYS!!!! And when you call, they tell you if you don't like how they do it, don't order from them. Never again!

Silver bars beautifully minted and sealed for protection. Decent shipping time. Signature confirmation is required on all orders to make sure nothing is stolen if left on your front porch. This means if you are not home you may have to go to the post office to pick it up. But a few extra minutes to ensure I receive what I spent good money for doesn't bother me. They have an office in Laurel, MD so if you are local you can go pick up your order in person. They seem to want payment by check or wire transfer (cash is accepted if picking up in person,) which seems somewhat antiquated. I would purchase from them again.

I would never order from this place again. Thankfully, there are other reputable providers out here. Customer service sucks. Too long for shipping and too many fees. I was told by Clint, "the self declared" head man in charge, that the owner would not be concerned about my complaints because it's "only $290". Needless to say, mr.Clint lost a valuable customer for life! And i will be using my influence to ensure all potential customers are made aware of this arrogance. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE!! Go to silver.com. much faster service and waay more congenial.

Took them almost three weeks to get my product to me. I had to email twice, no response, then had to call. They finally sent my package three days after I called them when they promised it would go out the day I called. I received my 100 Britannia's and it looked like they had gone through and collected every damaged, scratched, defaced coin they could find. Not a single coin was undamaged! I will never do business with this company again and would recommend the same to you. I have also noticed they only put the positive reviews on their web page and just toss out the negative ones. Hope this helps someone to avoid the mess I had to go through.

I bought a coin which is good. I got charged $38.60 to use PayPal. I called PayPal and they told me they should not be charging this high fee for a customer to use PayPal to buy their items. With the high price they charge for shipping $24.95 Priority insured which is way more then the real cost they ripped me off of $63.55 in excess fees. I will never buy again with these high fees as there are many other companies that charge far less and free shipping. I have also filed a complaint with the Attorney generals Office in their state.

Outstanding company, excellent selection-all metals, pricing is the lowest in the country, customer service 100% to serve the needs of the client. Shipping has never been any problem and email notification is carried out at every step of the process. I had requested my coins be packaged in Golden Eagle cloth storage bags instead of the usual plastic wrap, and my request was granted. Very sturdy bags which saved me from purchasing them from another company at a later time. The whole experience has been a total pleasure dealing with this fine company. I plan to visit Golden Eagle in the near future at their Laural, MD.
