Northwest Territorial Mint (CLOSED)

I've been trying since the beginning of May to get a custom coin from these guys. I've been told REPEATEDLY that I would get an email the next day but never received it. I've emailed several times and gotten no response. When I call, I'm told to email the info again and then promises are made. Still nothing. I gave up and am trying another company. Apparently these guys don't need the business.

I have made 4 orders with nwt. The first two were through the online store for various items like the silver bullets and smaller bullion. At the time the small orders did not qualify for the bullion department.

The first of the two online store came in quick. I received a notice that it shipped early. This was around Jan 2014. The second order was delayed twice but I was only notified the first time. When they missed the second ship date I called and they apologized. That second order didn't ship for another 3 weeks. Each time I called the online store girls were very polite and helpful. If I had a question that related to bullion I was transfered to that department....they were always short with me and rude.

The next two orders were placed online through the billion department. The first order was made 4/8/14. Was delayed multiple times however I was never notified via email. I would log into my account to check the status. First est ship date was 6/13. Finally shipped 7/11 (over 3 months after the order was made and all payments verified did it finally ship)

Second online bullion order was made 4/18. Received an email notice that it is delayed and will not possibly ship till 7/21 to 7/25... Again 3 months after the order was placed and payed for.

Would I shop there again-- yes but I understand it would take a very long time to get the product. Best of luck buying and understand there will be a long delay

This company is ridiculous. I placed a very modest order. After the order was placed I was told it would be 21 business days before it shipped. Just before this period ended, I was told it would ship in another 31 days. So they have my money but I don't have what I purchased. Don't sell what you can't ship immediately or give me an agreed upon price an charge me once the order ships. I can even get a full refund. This is a scam.

BUYER BEWARE! I do a lot of on line buying and I spent over 38 years as a customer service technician that was trained to always make that customer feel important. This place is absolutely the pits! They have no concept of customer service which means they have not thought about taking care of the paying customers, whatsoever! BTW, just a cursory check on the web and you will find better pricing from other vendors that will ship asap as they really have the product in stock.

My fist order (of two) to this sorry group was placed on 5/17/14. I here nothing other than the confirmation of order (same day) and then I wait. After this order I make one more on 6/5/14. Mind you now, I have heard nothing on the 5/17 order! Finely!!!! I here something from this company. On 6/18 I get a notice from FedEx that the company has shopped to me. But, there is absolutely nothing to indicate what or which order! I email them twice and get zero answer. On 6/25 I get my first order so at least I know what was shipped and what was not. Folks, I was in the customer service business for my entire career and this junky group is the worst I have ever seen. Just look at all the negative comments from so many. WE ALL CAN NOT BE WRONG! The very few positive comments, well, it appears that is shill people that must be on the payroll.

BOTTOM LINE: IF YOU CAN FIND IT SOMEPLACE ELSE, (and you most likely can for even less) DO SO! YOU MOST LIKELY WILL SAVE SOME $$ AND HAVE YOUR SILVER IN HAND, IN DAYS INSTEAD OF MONTHS!

PROS...... Bullets were flawless, better than expected and customer service was good.
CONS...... Delivery time sucks. Did not get email with tracking #
OVERALL... The Silver Bullets were well worth the extra waiting time.

My mistake was not finding these guys sooner. I have been buying silver for a number of years now, and these guys are simply the best in terms of quality and price. They always have some type of special going on, which is nice. They take awhile to ship, but other than that, this is the perfect place to buy gold and silver.

I have made two orders in the past month from these folks. I got confirmation the orders were made right away and of course, my CC got charged right away. Time goes buy and I hear nothing on the first order then more time and I actually get am email from them saying the second order is "delayed" because of the amount of business they have going on. Then I get an email (from FedEx) telling me NWT has sent me a package. Of course, there is no reference whatsoever as to which order this is. But the email did have an email address for someone at NTW. I have twice emailed to find out exactly what is coming and what is not. I have not heard back a word! So, if you want to buy silver from someone that is lightning fast to charge, molasses slow to send, and has zero when it comes to communications and customer service, these are the people you want to deal with. On the other hand, if you have reasonable expectations on shipping and service, FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO BUY FROM! I will never, ever buy from this company again!

I ordered 500 Oz in January with a promise ship date no later than April 25. Only then did I read the reviews about this place and got really worried. I doubted whether I would ever get the silver or see my money again. Very stressful. Three months later they delayed the shipment 30 days. Thirty days went by and I heard nothing from the company. A few days later I called during lunch and was put on hold for over half an hour and finally had to hang up. I called again after work and explained I had already waited on the phone once that day and since it was my second time calling could I move to the front of the que? I thought the lady was rather rude and told me "NO, many people today are calling for the second time today" trying to get through. After a very long wait a nice lady answered and said my shipment was delayed and this time they could not give me a new date. I asked for a refund. She said they would send the check within two business days (pretty good). A week later I was still pretty worried and called again. She said the check had gone out yesterday. So four and a half months after placing my order thankfully I got my money back but they obviously sold something they did not possess nor could they get ahold of it. Learn from my stressful mistake. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY.

I bought 150 silver coins and after you submit your order, they tell you its going to take 2 to 3 months to get your order. after 3 months, they told me its going to be another month delay in an email.
I finally got my order after 4 months. Unbelievable !!!! I will never buy from them again.
Save yourself a headache and don't buy from NWT Mint.
I started using goldsilver.com and I get my order within 2 weeks after my check clears.

This company is like many others in terms of their shipping. When you make your order, they go over the delivery time with you to let you know what to expect.

In one instance, I made a little back when the price of silver went up above what I paid, but that was awhile back. Their customer service is pretty helpful and professional if you reach out to them and let them know your situation.

by some of the comments from folks on here. These guys are not the quickest as far as shipping goes, but the quality is very high and the prices are pretty competitive.

If your patient, you will get your metal. I've been buying from them for almost 10 years and they are one of the better companies to deal with IMO.

Three months passed since they cash my check. So I call four times and keep getting put on hold. Am told no one is available to speak with me concerning my order. One person did call me back later in the day and told me my order "would be shipped after the weekend".

I believe NW Terr Mint uses customer funds to take advantage of market fluctuations for their benefit over a three to four month period. Look at their "agreement" as the terms are stacked. The BEST a customer can hope for is a full refund. My jury is still "out" as also is my money. This Company smells to high heaven.

If you want accompany to hold your money interest free for over 4 months. Lie about ship dates then avoid you this is the company for you. I will never deal with these scam artist again. Twice they promised delivery. The dates came and went. Then when you try and ask they put you on hold for hours, don't respond to your email and give an attitude when you get through. Now, hopefully, I'm getting my money back. Although I wouldn't bet on a speedy return. I'll probably have to contact my attorney to straighten this disaster out.

Got great service and honest advice from them. Was told up front how long it would take but sure enough I got what I asked for. Beautiful product and couldn't be happier.

These guys also are big supporters of the military and make all their stuff in the US I believe. Way to go since most won't even make anything here any more. Will definitely buy from them again

I think most of the comments on here are far too harsh. I have ordered from N.W.T.M. several times and find their products and packaging/presentation to be excellent when it finally arrives. I do agree that the shipping time is too long. I think they do themselves a discredit by this but it is the only complaint that there is. Their staff and telephone people are excellent. They are not at all difficult to deal with. I would certainly order from them again. Just be patient.

I've ordered twice from this company and both times it took 4 months to receive the merchandise. There were always delays and then the usual offer of refunding my money. The quality of the silver is generally pretty good, but their shipping time and delays make it a horrible experience. Other mints provide much better service and the quality of the silver is the same.

These folks took my order and explained their procedure as well as their shipment time of 30-45 days. At the end of that time they notified me that the shipment had been delayed by about two weeks and at the end of the time they estimated the order was shipped. I received the order and the silver boulion was absolutely beautiful. I have ordered from other dealers who were faster but then who cares? I received what I ordered at the time I was promised and the silver was a wonderful addition to my other metals and coins.
I give them a Five star rating for communication and for fulfilling their promises as well as the qiality of their product.
I see so many negative reviews for Northwest Territorial Mint and I think they are just upset that they don't have their toys in their hands in just a couple of days.
Get over it and muster up sime parience. NWTM did not become such a large company because they were dishonest or did not perform as promised.

Northwest Territorial Mint produces the highest quality coins and medals available. The problem is their service is atrocious. They tell you delivery in eight to ten weeks. Then they email you and tell you they are behind schedule and it will be three months. After three months they email you and promise it will be there in another month. They are using your money this time interest free. I can't believe they are still in business.

I GOT THE ROYAL SHAFT FROM THESE GUYS. I ORDERED A 135,000 COIN, I CALLED GOLD LINE 3 MONTHS LATER. TOLD THEM WHAT I PAID AND THE GUY ASK IF I WAS JOKING. HE SAID THE MOST YOU SHOULD HAVE PAID IS 85,000. I TRIED TO SALE IT BACK TO NWT MINT AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD GIVE ME 80,000 FOR IT. I TALKED TO THE MAN IN CHARGE OF NWT AND HE SAID "SORRY THERES NOTHING I CAN DO". IN CASE YOUR WONDERING WHAT THE COIN WAS, ITS A $4 GOLD STELLA. I WOULD NEVER BUY FROM THIS GROUP OF PEOPLE AGAIN..

These folks are running a scam. They only want to invest your funds for a fiscal quarter and they have no intention of shipping your metals order to you!! For every shipping deadline they miss they'll offer you exactly the same excuse each time. Really shady business. I would strongly suggest going elsewhere.

For anyone that is writing 5 star reviews, it is very very clear that you are either a member of the NWTM team, or you are too naive to see that you were clearly taken. I placed my order well over 2 months ago, and they said it would be delivered in a few weeks. I think received an email saying there could be a delay in shipment until March 17, 2014. Second email delayed until April 4th. I was very hesitant to place this order in the first place because it said you had to be home, show your license, and sign for the package. Since my credit card is linked to my CHILDHOOD home address (and I've moved out on my own since then), I would not be able to sign for the package. It turns out I was going to contact USPS or UPS, whoever they decided to send it through and tell them I would come pick up the package after work, to save them the trouble of ringing my doorbell and me obviously not being there. In any event, I went to check the status of my shipment and it says DELIVERED. Delivered where? I did not sign for any package, nor did anyone in my house. It seems they left the package of silver on my doorstep and after months of waiting for it- IT IS NOW GONE. Not only have I been in contact with the 'manager' of the web for the past 6 weeks (who takes more than a few weeks to get back to you, unless you really continue calling and nudging them) but now I have nothing to show for it. Just a hefty credit card bill.

I own a business in New York, buying and selling gold and silver bullion, and we would never treat our customers like this. It is truly disgusting the lack of customer service that NWTM has. Not to mention, for all those people who are purchasing gold or silver from them, they are hedging off of YOUR money. If silver goes up, they send you an email telling you to cancel the order. Complete crooks and a truly disgraceful company to deal with. I am now very impatiently waiting to see what they are going to do with the order and hope they will do right by their CUSTOMER.

Overall my experience with them went as expected. I decided to go with them for a variety of reasons, they are one of the largest PM dealers around, their premiums above spot are pretty good, and their products are well crafted.

I know that there are a lot of dealers to choose from out there, but you can't go wrong with buying from one of the largest dealers around for all of the reasons mentioned above.

Customer service is helpful when placing my order, and it always arrives in great condition. Since I'm in the area, I'll stop by their place occasionally, and have always been treated well.

In my first foray into buying metals, North West Mint was one of the vendors I tried. Horrible! Significantly higher priced than others, delay of nearly a month, and, when I cancelled, they insisted this was a bullion transaction that they would only buy back at spot price. Hence, the made money on the sale, they made more money on the cancellation, and two weeks later, I still do not have any money back. Customer service representatives are rude, short-tempered and devious, (NB my opinion.)

I have learned my lesson, I will never do business with these folks again.

All you need to do is research the end months of tulving before they shafted people out of 50 million, and you will see the same pattern of delays and excuses. When u order from this joke of a company you don't find out until after you pay that you won't get your goods for 4 to 6 months if your lucky. Then u will get more excuses, sounds like they on their way to the same path as tulving

I have purchased from Bullion Direct and had no issues. NWTM take over 4 months to deliver. The original date was in mid April, THEY JUST SENT A NOTICE THAT THEY CANNOT DELIVER THE PRODUCT..THIS IS WELL AFTER 4 MONTHS!!! ON TOP OF THIS THEY MAY SEND A REFUND…HELL THEY HAD MY MONEY FOR OVER 4 MONTHS!!!! I COULD HAVE DONE BETTER TO BUY OFF EBAY!! They are arrogant and act like they are doing you a favor. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE FROM THEM AGAIN. I understand what they do, they invest YOUR MONEY and have plenty of time to recover from any flux in the market. My order is small and I should have purchased from B.D. Buying an investment in solid metal,which is what they offer, you want that in your hands ASAP. NWTM states they have silver……NO THEY INVEST YOUR CASH STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS!! THEY DONT DESERVE A 1 ON ANY …but I had to put one or they won't accept this...

There is also blatantly incorrect information on the web site. Gifts of precious metals, etc... do NOT step up to the fair market value at the time they are gifted....they recipient gets whatever the donor's basis is.

I have purchased silver bullion from Northwest Territorial Mint for several years with no problems whatsoever. Recently a purchase seemed overdue. I checked the website and the purchase status was 'pending.' The next morning as soon as the office opened I called and talked to a woman. I explained my problem. She apologized for the inconvenience, said she would pass the information to her manager and that someone would get back to me. Later that day I received an email stating that a shipment from Northwest Territorial Mint was on its way. The next morning I received a call from customer service. She too, apologized for the inconvenience. My order had fallen into a crack in the delivery system (my words not hers.) She said the order had been shipped and thanked me for my business. Two hours later my bullion order was delivered to my door.
Problem acknowledged, problem resolved in 24 hours with no questions asked. As far as I am concerned, that is excellent customer service! Northwest Territorial Mint will continue to be my only source of silver bullion.

Contact Washington Attorney General. Order placed 12/03/13, haven't received it yet. Invoice says 8-10 weeks to ship, now at 12 weeks and waiting. Wish I'd checked feedback before ordering. They may be within the law but no being very ethical. Again, let attorney general's office know if you are upset.

Yes, shipping is slow. But think...you are getting an investment. You paid an agreed upon price and the value will go up or down from that time regardless to it being in your possession. What are you worried about? Not being able to play with it like a toy? Chances are you will put it in a vault or bury it In the back yard so what is the real problem? At least it is safe from theft while in route and your next door neighbor who you have been bragging to about all your gold and silver will not be tempted to borrow it.
I rate these complaints about delivery...somewhere between whining and false.

I liked working with NWTM. The website promised delivery in three months. On the last day they sent me an e-mail that the delivery was delayed up to 30 more days. I didn't like that at all and it made me nervous, but the product was shipped on the 30th day via FedEx truck which took 4 days to get from Nevada to Michigan. The silver bars are beautiful. I would like to see NWTM speed their delivery. Other than that they are a great company to work with.

Like one previous reviewer said, I feel stupid. Nothing to add really. I am being victimized by the same bait/delay that everybody else is suffering through who has ordered from these schmucks. I am debating whether to try and wait them out, or take my beating like a man and file for the refund ( which will leave me about $445 less than my original expenditure of over $3000). I should have done the "Due Diligence" before I sent the money. My Bad. It won't happen again.

After 3 months of waiting for the purchase of 500 silver coins I finally initiated the refund of my money. Customer service letting me know when I would receive my coins. Almost non existent

Ordered October 2013, order delayed twice without any willingness to release funds, and without any apology in the least when they were unable to complete the order in a timely manner. I guess these folks like getting free consumer loans from people dumb enough to order without reading the reviews, like I did.

Order received a few days ago, the 50oz of silver bullets look poor/used/abused, bullets are scratched, nicked, unevenly stamped. So no, I didn't receive what I ordered, I didn't order 50 ounces, and wait months for second-hands silver rounds that look as if someone was skating on them across a concrete floor, then throwing them at a wall, then not giving a damn how they are packed. Unless you like excessive drama in your world, avoid northwest territorial mint at all costs. An awful experience that only cost me $1200, so glad I decided to only order a minute portion of what I intended to as a probation of sorts, best move I made in recent history. My condolences to those who dropped five figures or higher expecting quality product and customer service.

But don't worry, this epic waste of time and money isn't the only business selling silver poured into ammo shapes, I found a place that does it better, faster, cheaper, that are actually apologetic and willing to refund if there's a delay. But to prevent NorthWest FailTrain complaining about this complaint I can't drop the name of the vendor here - good luck finding them, search places that have online auctions and you'll see NorthWest FailTrain's competition's products, and they are leaps and bounds better than the trash NorthWest FailTrain uses to rip-off victi... er sell to customers after MONTHS of last-minute delays.

Avoid, avoid, avoid, if these con artists are the last metal pushers in town to have a product, you can either wait for reputable vendors to restock, or wait four times as long for NWT to ship what they supposedly have in stock. You can heed the handful of five-star planted reviews (from people paid to give glowing/fake reviews), or trust the majority of the reviews written by northwest territorial mint's victims... er customers.

I already paid for the lesson all, it only cost me $1200 for a $1000 worth of damaged/used "new" silver to realize these folks are only out there to meet their own ends, and nuts to the consumer. You don't need to pay for a craptastic experience like this, take your business elsewhere, you'll be better for it.

I placed my first couple of orders in mid-September. I am still waiting as of January 2nd. I've done the 10 week lead time. I have done the 30 day extension as of tomorrow. Today when I call they say they have until the 6th to ship though the website clearly says the 3rd. Regardless, they can't tell me if it will ship or not. I don't care if I get a refund or if they ship the product, I really don't like having money stuck in limbo like this. Once the existing orders have either been received or refunded, NO WAY, I mean NO WAY do I ever do business with Northwest Territorial Mint ever again. Provident Metals, JM Bullion, even Apmex but never NWTM. The lead times and policies are ridiculous. From what I found online, they were sued in 2008 for exactly this same shipping delay/extension tactics and lost but it has clearly not changed the way they operate. Read the other reviews. If only I knew then what I know now......

This mint is the worst I have ever dealt with. I thought I would buy from them because they are close to home but is all they do is delay shipment and make lame excuses. This is a terrible buying experience. I asked the lady why they sell what they do not have and she said they do have it. I asked why I do not have it on time and said they are at max production and orders are delayed. I asked why this wasn't emailed out before the final shipping estimate date and she didn't have an answer. Terrible service, did not meet expectations.

I ordered silver bullion back in 09/2013 and its now 12/23/2013. They say in there terms and conditions that it can take 2 to 3 months and they hide it in the legal verbiage. What a scam, they hold my money for over 4 months and still haven't received my order.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. IT WILL TAKE FOREVER TO GET YOUR ORDER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After 3 months waiting for my shipment when I called on the last day of promised shipment I have spoken to Kim who already knew that my shipment is going to be delayed for another 30 days. I was told that due to large number of orders my shipment is going to be delayed as described in purchase contract. I was told that state attorney has prepared that contract. Anyone that has same experience please call state attorney to inform about this scam procedure. Maybe class action for purposeful delaying shipment maybe the right action.

I feel stupid. I should have heeded the over 1000 warnings against NWTM. The reviews are overwhelmingly negative. It isn't 5 or 10% negative. There are over 800 negative reviews! Almost all are nearly all the same. This is the short of it. The business model of this company functions by taking and holding Your funds for as long as is legally permissible. They always lie and give a ship date and then consistently extend to the last possible day in order to collect the interest on all the deposits they are holding from ordinary people. It looks like they do have product and will Probably eventually ship, after they have exhausted the interest and watched the market for a quarter. In the meantime, the customer feels Used, Lied to and deceived. It is upsetting to know that a business operates like this. In addition I now have know in my stomach wondering. Will my order ever really show up? An unscrupulous company such as this will pull the rug out at any moment if the market shifts.
Please beware. Do not make the mistake over 1000 others have made. Do Not deal with NWTM Northwest territory Mint. It is a holding company scam. They will hold your money for as long as possible. All he risk is on You. NEVER

Same as everyone else. I wish I had read this site before as well. i have placed three orders for 100 ounces each order. Unfortunately, I placed orders two and three before i knew the scam. They did me exactly like everyone else hhere. Wait 90 ways then tell me a 30 day delay. They are horrible and using our money interest free to make profits higher.

I ordered from NWT in the past and had horrible experiences but I guess I didn't learn my lesson. I did receive the packages after about 3 months. My current order was suppose to be shipped in October but is still sitting in "sent to fulfillment" status. I've finally learned my lesson and will not use them again. If you try to deal with them to get a status it's a losing battle. Horrible customer service... If the rating scale started at 0 I would give them a lower rating.

Initially advertised delivery in 8-10 weeks. Waited till the last minute to delay an additional 30 days. It will be 4 months from ordering to receiving product. Also wish I had read the reviews prior. Website says that the product already shipped 3 days ago but did not provide a tracking number nor received the product. Not the place to order from if you need a product by a specific date. Will not buy from again!

I wish I had read these reviews and others online before placing an order with NWTM. This was my first experience buying gold bullion. I placed an order and sent in a personal check which cleared back in February. Now 3 months later I have received several email messages about delays. I called once and spoke with someone on the phone who said they could only delay another 30 days and then they would have to ship. I was given excuses, such as that there was too much demand and they didn't have enough to send. So now the delivery date is supposedly mid-June. I have read here about some places to file complaints such as BBB, Washington Attorney General, FTC, etc. and I plan to take such action. I really hope that by sharing my negative experience that it will help to prevent someone else from getting suckered as I did. I have not received my order and I will not order from NWTM again and I really can't recommend anyone else does either!

I walked into NWM years ago when they were in their valley location with significant cash in my pocket. I wanted to purchase gold rounds. I couldn't put my finger on it at the time but they scared the hell out of me. I just got a terrible feeling. I purchased nothing.
So years later after they moved their sales operation up on the hill and the economy started down I went back again with a pocket full of cash to purchase some gold rounds again. Once again I got SUCH a bad feeling out of this bunch that I left without purchasing. Every policy that they have in place seems to be designed to advantage NWM at the expense of the customer.
Take it for what it's worth but my sense was that these guys will play fair until they have a loosing hand and then it's anything goes.

I'm totally confused by the poor reviews for NTM on this site. I placed an order for a few NMT silver bars, and one each Credit Suisse gold and platinum bars using the online store, noting the anticipated 4 week delivery estimate on the site. I ordered on April 17 and was given an anticipated delivery date of May 6, but later received tracking info with an *earlier* delivery date than promised. I received everything on April 30. I also don't understand why others are in a hurry to receive their shipment as long as their price is locked in. Precious metals are not short term investments.

I recieved the wrong item after 4 months. They sent it on the lasyt possible day before they had to give a refund. They sustituted the Arcadia 5 oz coins with another and did not tell me. The shipping invoice said Arcadia, so it appears they were being deceptive. They refused to give a refund. I will not use this company again.

I believe in cash.
I checked with them about this.

Was told the following:

If they had the product, and I had the cash for the product, they would deliver the product across the counter, upon receiving the cash price.

They were not used to large cash transactions at the time of my largest purchase--in the eight thousand range--a few years ago, and had to hand count the 100 dollar bills.

This was done several times to verify the totals.

They produced the product desired on each occasion.
I inspected these at time of purchase.
Each time they were courteous, knowledgeable and to the point.
They answered every question I asked and did not give me the impression they were scammers in the least.
Reading the reviews here is an eye opener.
Some buyers think that checks and credit cards are the same as US currency.
They aren't.
As far as I am able to tell, no one has lost any money with them, but they have lost time, worn their patience out, and if truth be told, indicated just what happens to the inexperienced and innocent in this world.
