A negative experience with a competing company has recently lead me to do business with Texas Precious Metals. I researched this company very carefully prior to purchasing with them. As you can see, they have an almost a 5 star rating with this site. They are A+ rated with Better Business Bureau. Their prices are higher than some of their competitors but for me it was worth it. I placed my order online. They locked my price in at the time of my purchase. I then mailed them a personal check via certified mail. They sent me email confirmations with my original purchase as well as when they received my money. They processed my check electronically and shipped my silver within 2 days of receiving my check. My silver was shipped via overnight delivery and was shipped in a confidential box. This company is Excellent. I can't say how happy I am to do business with them. They are a breath of fresh air after the extremely negative experience I had with one of their competitors. I will definitely do business with them again.

This was the first time I had purchased any bullion and I was anxious about writing a large check for 10 X 1 oz coins sight unseen, but my concerns were unfounded. I sent my check by USPS priority mail. It was cashed upon receipt and the coins were promptly sent by next-day UPS. The packaging was first rate. Are the coins legitimate? I sure hope so; they look good to me.

A great place to do business with I would not do business anywhere else. Best company I've ever had dealings with. Everything was spot on!!!

Mike was extremely helpful and courteous. he did not try to sell me other items or switch anything. I appreciate professionalism, and Mike and the whole process was just excellent. I am a retired coin dealer, and I understand the simplest of business ethics - and TPM is recommended by me without any qualification. Count of these people to treat you right.

I don't know who these guys are, but they are definitely ethical and honest.
They don't cheat or weasel or mislead.
All the rest does not matter to me.

Many nice reviews and positive comments have been submitted for TPM. I'm pleased to say I wholeheartedly agree: It's a pleasure doing business with the people from Shiner, Texas. They have what they advertise and they ship it quickly as soon as your funds reach them. If you know what you want and don't need to talk to a sales rep, a few mouse clicks is all it takes to get your order rolling, even late at night. TPM gets five stars from me. Buying gold and silver bullion has never been easier or more affordable. They're people you can trust.

They were very helpful and did exactly what they said they would do. Delivery was very quick and i got some beautiful coins.

I've purchased American Gold Eagle coins from Texas Precious Metals twice now, and both experiences were uniformly superb. The TPM website made the process very straightforward. Once I wired payment, they shipped the gold promptly, within 3 business days as promised. It was shipped via overnight delivery. The coins themselves were in perfect condition and individually packaged in transparent sleeves. I even received a follow-up call from TPM asking whether I was satisfied with my purchase. Indeed I was. I plan to purchase more gold/silver in the future, and I won't go anywhere but TPM.

I tried to order metals from Merit and it took most of the day to confirm prices. First, they wanted money wired up front, then i could not get a sales person on the line for hours. Meanwhile gold climbed $30/oz. I figured there must be a better way. I Googled "reviews of PM dealers" and you were highly rated. I thought I would give it a try so I ordered some gold from you. The entire process took five minutes and it was my first visit to your site. I wired the funds and immediately got an email confirmation stating that my credit card deposit would be refunded. I still have not received my metals from Merit, but yours were at the front door in 3 days! Your prices on Gold Eagles were better than Merit. I will never go anywhere else.

First time buyer, was nervous to jump in. Bought 100 silver Maple Leafs, easy ordering. Coins arrived 4 days after putting the check in the mail. Encouraged, and with silver prices still low, bought 100 silver American Eagles, with the same fantastic results. I have found a trustworthy place to buy my precious metals. This was my first time purchasing precious metals anywhere. After doing a bunch of research into different sites on their fees, prices, and customer reviews, I decided to go with TPM. The prices were the best I could find for my particular item (1 oz gold bars). I sent my wire and my order was shipped 1 business day later. I also received free overnight delivery. I had to contact them a couple of times because my bank was slow to send my wire and they were very helpful and courteous. Will definitely do business with them again.

Bought platinum coins, wired money. Mailed out as specified, 2 days later due to holiday. Very professional. Just wished platinum premium was not higher than APMEX and they took personal checks. I didn't need it right away. But if you want the stuff right away, they are the ones to deal with! Would definitely use them for gold.

I have ordered from three different well known dealers so far and for substantial quantities. Texas Metals beats them all. I forgot to indicate my order number in my wire and sent an email notifying them and Madison responded immediately that she would be looking out for my payment. They shipped my package the day after my wire went out. Fastest shipper of them all and contents in great condition.

I just received my gold yesterday. I was a first time buyer so I was concerned about buying on-line. After much research and phone conversations with various dealers, I decided to go with Texas Precious Metals. They were very curtious on the phone and answered all my questions. My gold shipped the day after funds were received. I received my gold 4 business days later. The purchase price was very competitive, but most importantly, the buy-back price was the best. I will be using them again and recommending them to my family and friends.

My first order with Texas Precious Metals went so well that I sent them another. This time, it was for one, one half and one quarter gold coins and one ounce silver coins. The order was placed on a Wednesday evening after receiving the very first order. I met with my banker the following morning and sent a wire for payment of the order. That evening, Texas Precious Metals sent an email confirming receipt of payment. The 5 percent hold on my Visa was erased like they said it would be. On Friday, I received a UPS ground tracking number and was concerned at this point because I thought an order of this size was going to be UPS next day air. After checking my account online, I noticed everything shipped except the 1 ounce gold coins. The portion that did ship was less than 10 ounces of gold and it could go by UPS ground. I wrote customer service a letter on Friday PM expecting an answer Monday but it was actually answered immediately by their agent that next Saturday morning. The remaining shipment was at a different vault and they do not ship UPS next day air on Fridays because UPS does not deliver on Saturdays and their insurance company will not allow it. The UPS Ground order arrived on Tuesday and the UPS next day air arrived on Wednesday, all within 72 hours. A buyer could not ask for better customer service than that.

Great website, excellent support over the phone, fast and accurate service. Top-notch company, and I look forward to doing business with them repeatedly.

After doing lots of due diligence, I gave Texas Precious Metals a small order for gold coins, just enough to get the free next day air shipping. I placed the order on Sunday and just like they said, I received an email with all the instructions on paying for my purchase. My banker followed the wire instructions on Monday morning and that evening, Texas Precious Metals sent another email confirming receipt of Payment. The 5 percent hold on my Visa was erased like they said it would be. By Tuesday evening, I had a UPS next day air tracking number. The shipment was delivered Wednesday evening. The packaging was excellent. The coins were as described and placed in a small box with foam peanuts to prevent rattle. That box was placed in another small box and then the UPS box with more foam peanuts. The label had no mention of precious metals inside. Items that impressed me with this order were the speed, packaging, price, adequate inventory, no hidden costs and no sales commissions. I was so pleased with TPM that I have already sent them another order.

Reading the other reviews gave me the confidence to place my first ever bullion order with TPM. Only caveat is I was told on the phone my order would ship UPS, but it came USPS instead. But I didn't sweat it, and got my silver eagles in one week.

Just completed a transaction for a few Gold Mapleleafs and I've got to say that I am impressed with TPM. I placed the order on-line about just before lunch on Tuesday. My wire transfer was sent Tuesday afternoon and my Mapleleafs arrived via overnight UPS just before lunch on Thursday - 48 hours from initiating the order to delivery!

I've ordered from other dealers, but TPM is the best I've found yet. Good prices, a website that updates those prices constantly, great communication after the sale, product exactly as described and super fast delivery. What's not to like?

Based on my experience, I highly recommend these folks - and that's something I can't say about any other gold dealer that I've done business with.

I spoke with this company and I must say that they were definitely very friendly and kind. And if I were buying gold bullion these guys are very competitively priced. However, the only reason why I'm not giving them 5 stars across the board is because I was left some old silver dollars by my father and asked them to give me a price on them. Originally I don't think they knew what a peace dollar is, but then I think they realized that I wasn't talking about american silver eagles. After that was handled I got them to give me a purchase price and needless to say they were not competitive on that.

So basically this is an excellent niche company. If you just want a few simple bullion coins then go for it, but if it's something not on there site then I'd recommend you go somewhere else.

Tex Metals is an excellent company for your gold and silver buying needs. Their inventory is not as extensive as some of the larger bullion companies, but this allows them to offer some of the lowest overhead prices available. They have a good selection of gold and silver coins, and their bars are from the reputable mints like NTR and Perth.

I have made a few orders and their responses and shipping times have been very quick. Ordering is a snap online (my personal preference) and they have automatic email alerts and updates when your order is placed, your payment has been received, and when your order ships.

I am very satisfied with this company, and will continue to do business with them.

My one minor quibble is that they don't right now have inventory for the PAMP and Suisse gold bars.

I've been salting away gold & silver for some years and Texas Precious Metals is absolutely the best I've ever encountered in this business. Their mark-ups are the lowest I've found, buying AND selling back. They do what they say they will do in a very professional manner. Could not ask for more in any business.
My TPM agent was Tarek Saab and he was great in every respect; patient and instructive during my first transaction and professional and proficient and friendly during all.
My only regret is that I did not discover this fine family-owned business until this year !

I was a 1st time buyer at the end of June 2012. Delivery was over 10 days but that included a weekend and the 4th of July. I bought again on July 10th and expect UPS delivery sometime today. I'm very satisfied in dealing with them as there is no pressure to buy and I've had a nice long chat with them regarding the finer details of how international gold markets work and how spot rates are developed & quoted. I would not hesitate to recommend them in the future although my experience has been that I'm not getting 3-day delivery. I bought/paid by wire on a Tuesday but the order wasn't processed & transferred to UPS until the following Monday. Of course, freight was free and I can't complain about 24 hour overnight shipping. Would like to see an 800- tele number and a little more professionalism when they answer the phone. One girl picked up the phone and just said, "Hello." Not a big deal in the greater scheme of things but for a newbie it was a bit disconcerting and caused one to wonder what sort of a firm I was dealing with!

I would like to recommend this Company after receiving an excellent service from them. Having never purchased gold before, I must say how impressed I was by their speedy professional service. I purchased a Gold Eagle coin from them and paid by bank wire, everything went smoothly and it arrived within 3 days! I will definately be using them in the future

I have recommended TexMetals to everyone in my card club and everyone at my church. For a first timer, they treated me with great respect and patience, and the purchase price was lower than anyone else online. I actually called them 3 times before I purchased, and I never once felt pressured.

I used Midlan IRA in Chicago as my IRA custodian, and they are great too.

I have never bought from TexMetals, but I have sold to them, and I had a nice experience. I called to inquire about selling 20 Gold Buffaloes. Once I was clear on the premiums, they emailed me my shipping label and scheduled a FedEx courier to come to my house to pick up the package. When he arrived, he scanned the label, I called to lock-in the spot, TexMetals had the package the next day, and my check arrived 3 days later. Much simpler than I expected.

To me, the fact that I never had to leave my house with $37,000 worth of gold bullion is a BIG deal. The convenience is nice, but the security of the transaction is what I appreciated most.

For what it's worth, I had a really positive experience buying from Texas Precious Metals. Good prices, good service. Really good all around. On the downside, they don't have a huge selection if that matters to people. I tend to focus exclusively on government issue coins (I don't like the premiums on the numismatic stuff) so if you're into collectibles, TexMetals isn't the company. If you want Eagles, Maples, Krugs, Silver Bars, Rounds, for a great price and brand new etc, TexMetals is the place to go.

Just want to throw in my two cents. I have purchased from a lot of companies, and TexMetals is my pick - hands down - for several reasons.

1. Their premiums are way cheaper than APMEX (not even in the stratosphere), and even cheaper then Provident, which is also in Texas.

2. Their minimums are lower than Tulving, and they are cheaper than Tulving on Canadian Products especially, even at higher volume.

3. Their delivery times are much faster than Gainesville, where you can wait as long as 3-4 weeks to take delivery of a package (Plus Gainesville has past bankruptcy issues, which are unnerving). In fact, TexMetals has a policy where if they don't have it in stock, they won't sell it.

Lastly, for the people like me who buy regularly, TexMetals is the only company that accepts limit orders. This is HUGE. I can place an order for when Gold or Silver hit a certain price, to AUTOMATICALLY execute - 24/7. You can truly dollar cost average at your intended price points.

All the companies here are reliable - Provident, Gainesville, Tulving, APMEX - but Texmetals gets the nod from me.
