Have done business with tulving many times. NEVER AGAIN!

I too have been a customer of Tulving for years, having bought, sold and traded everything from my first bags of junk silver to 10 oz and 100 oz silver bars to 50 pesos, etc. Last year I noticed the time it took to turn around a trade kept increasing from a week or so to multiple weeks.
In early May an order was placed with Tulving over the phone for the purchase of one 1000 oz silver bar. Funds were wired to Tulving that day and successfully arrived the following day. Five weeks later I inquired with Karen at Tulving about the status of my order and was told that Tulving was experiencing "some delays" with some of the products. I was asked if I was interested in choosing a different product, which I did. My order was changed from one 1000 oz silver bar to rounds at the cost of an additional $300. A personal check for $300 was immediately sent to Tulving and my records show it was immediately deposited. I was told by the salesman that the new product would be shipping the week of 06/24/13.
I inquired again about the status of my order the week of 07/08/13 and was told it should be shipping around the end of the week. I inquired again the week of 07/22/13 and Karen reported that my order would be shipping shortly. I followed up on 07/29/13 and was treated very rudely by Karen and told not to call on Mondays and that she did not have an order status for me. I proceeded to e-mail Mr. Hannes Tulving that day (07/29/13) and his response via e-mail was "Plan on shipping this week".
On 08/06/13 I followed up with Mr. Tulving with the question, "Has this shipped out?" to which Mr. Tulving replied, "Not yet". My response was, "What is holding it up? This Thursday is 3 months. I'm a patient man but at some point I will have to say "enough"." to which I never received a response from Mr. Tulving.
I then filed a complaint with the BBB and let Mr. Tulving know that if he failed to respond in a timely manner I would be contacting my local law enforcement and his local law enforcement. The next day (Friday) I recieved a shipping confirmation from Tulving and my order arrived today (Monday).
My order took 104 days to arrive and at no time did Tulving provide me with any kind of legitimate status of where things stood.
I no longer care what Tulving's posted prices are, I am not risking my dollars and am done being treated like the doormat on the way in to the farm house at a cattle ranch. I have no idea what kind of foolishness is going on behind the scenes at Tulving but I'm not going to stick around and find out.

Tulving Is the Worst

I cannot understand how Tulving stays in business. Everything they have promised me has been a lie. I made a five figure purchase and wired funds to Tulving on June 20, 2013. His web-site says that orders are shipped within 3-5 days of receipt of funds. This is a joke. At the time of I placed the order the salesman said they were running a bit behind and my order would ship in 1-1 1/2 weeks. When two weeks had passed I called and was told my order was in the queue and would ship the week of July 22. When it failed to show up I called again and was told it was no longer in the queue and they couldn't tell me when it would ship. I asked to speak to Tulving and was told he did not take calls during business hours! He responded to one email and said he 'would TRY and ship my order the following week.' As of this posting (August 14, 2013), almost nine weeks after I wired the funds, I have still not received my order and Tulving has stopped responding to my emails.
This was my fifth and last order with Tulving. I am treated like a nuisance and with complete contempt. I suppose he thinks he can treat his customers like trash because, in my case, I am two thousand miles from Newport Beach.
I am in the process of hiring an attorney in the hopes of recovering my money. I am not a first time buyer; I have traded PM's for years and understand the volatile nature of this market, but Tulving is the worst.

UPDATE August 21- It took nine weeks and a lawyer, but my order was finally delivered. My attorney had to send a letter before Tulving decided to ship. They do have competitive pricing, but when you factor in legal fees it's hardly a bargain. I will not do business with them again.

Slow but Sure

I have done business with Hannes for 6 years. I have always received what I have ordered and it usually has been 7-10 days. My latest order of Silver Eagles took 5+ weeks. I called Karen 3 times and was basically told "we are behind." Finally, I sent a nice email to Hannes requesting my silver to be shipped. He shipped it the next day by overnight red delivery.

I will use him in the future as I do trust him to deliver. He does nearly a billion a year in sales with a skeleton crew, so I understand. If the wait is not something you can handle it is best to shop somewhere else; otherwise, I feel that his prices are good enough to wait as my silver is not for sale anywhere near the prices it is at today.

DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE OF DEALING WITH THEM!!!

My local dealer said delivery was over 4 weeks out. Tulving said they had it in stock & delivery would be in about 7 Days. They LIED!!! Its been about a month & still nothing. They are VERY, VERY RUDE & JUST DON'T CARE!!! I am going to see an Attorney next week if I do not get delivery. My Local Dealer was Honest with me. I WILL NEVER TRUST TULVING AGAIN!!!

Lost my business

This was my forth purchase from Tulving. While shipping times were within a couple weeks before, this time my order took over three weeks to arrive. Several calls to Karen ultimately resulted in essentially a pass. "I just do what Mr. Tulving tells me..." No update, no idea when things will ship, etc. I emailed Mr. Tulving twice and got a response the second time.

While my story isn't as bad as the others you will read here, I've decided that I won't do business with them again. The website saying that all orders are in stock and are shipped overnight is misleading at best. Having to wait 3+ weeks for any real status on my order with them holding my money and feeling like I have virtually no recourse is not the way I ever want to do business again. The other posts in this website were also very "helpful" in convincing me that I don't want to do business with them again. FYI - I'm using an alias for this review but the other information is factual.

My order was delivered today, a little over six weeks since it was placed. Was it a good buy? Yes. Was it timely service? No.

It strikes me that the The Tulving Company is in a kind of sleepy time warp. On their website they proudly state that the company has been an Internet retailer since 1995. All these years later, though, their caliber of customer care has not budged---it's still at the 1995 level.

There is no dispute that Tulving offers good buys on a wide range of products. Some of the values are exceptional. The competition, though, has not stood still. Today, Tulving is competing against a growing cadre of online metal dealers---competitors with good prices, great websites and first-class sales departments. With thousands of dollars on the line, today's customers expect (and deserve) top flight personal service. Like all of you, I had one critical question for The Tulving Company as I placed my order back in May: When will it ship? Tulving was unable to answer.

The best dealers, on the other hand, CAN answer that key question. Personally, I don't expect perfection but I do expect a sales rep. can accurately project a ship date that falls in a 10-day shipping window. The best dealer will also send me weekly e-mail updates to tell me if the ship date falls behind schedule for any reason. Finally, when the package ships I expect a tracking number via e-mail. Timely communication is key.

With Tulving, six weeks to ship an "in stock" item was just awful. It doesn't cut the mustard. I wish the folks at The Tulving Company would just take a day off and spend 24 hours looking at the competition. They should look at Texas Precious Metals or Colorado Gold. The competition is good and getting better all the time. If a new and improved Tulving 2.0 is not born soon, one focused on customer service and prompt shipping, I doubt I'll be contacting them again.

I have purchased from Tulving many times in the past. I had even recommended friends and family. Thank God that my recent referrals got their orders filled. Some of my own orders were shipped promptly (within a week) and others took several weeks, but they all arrived within a month or so.

On Apr 15, 2013 I wired funds as usual, that were immediately cleared. I got a confirmation that the funds were good. I waited a few weeks. Perhaps I wasn't that diligent about nagging them because of the past history and trust I had for them. Also, I'm busy with work and don't always have time to call between the hours of 10-2 that Karen is there. Before I knew it, it had been 4 weeks. After the 4th week, I called to complain and I got a general answer that it isn't in the shipping queue yet, but will be soon. This was always the answer every few days that I called. I was not allowed to talk to Hannes. Then I was told that the product (Maples) was in short supply from the Mint. She suggested I switch to Kangaroos, which were in stock. I agreed. Today, we are 5 weeks later and still no shipment and no clear answer. I've been instructed to email Hannes and I have been going back and forth with him. One time, he said it would be shipped "in a few days". Then a few days later, he wrote they would be "shipped shortly". I asked for a firm date and he replied "no firm date". I will give them the benefit of a doubt before going to the Newport Beach police. I'll report back on Monday.

Another bad review

On May 15th I ordered 10 NTR 100 ounce silver bars and 5 APMEX 100 ounce silver bars. At time of order I tried to order 15 NTR bars but I was told that there were only 10 bars available right now - so I added 5 APMEX bars. (The funds were wired and accepted that date)

At time of order I was specifically told I would have the silver within a couple of weeks.

On June 10th I called Karen and asked why I had not received the silver. At that time she told me it would be shipped within 6 days - and she apologized for the delay.

On June 20th I called Karen again and asked why the silver had not shipped. She said:
1. They don't know if they can get the NTR bars in the near future.
2. When I asked to speak to Hannes - she said that I can only communicate with him via email.
3. I told Karen that I ordered those bars specifically and if I can't get the order filled I want
my money back (yes I understand that silver has gone down - but if they can't ship what
I was told was available - and it's what and why I ordered it - should they in fact refund the
money if I'm being told they can't get it?).
4. Karen said that they don't give refunds.

So, here it is almost 5 weeks after ordering that I'm just now finding out that they don't have the products they promised to deliver to me?

I've ordered from them in the past - and always got slow delivery - but this stinks.

I received my order today, 64 days after my check cleared and more than 30 days later than promised. Karen, who handles processing was polite, but could provide no information--Hannes handles all of the orders and determines what gets filled and when. Hannes was rude, and I had to threaten legal action to actually get them to ship my order.

I am confused as to how an in-stock item can take 64 days to arrive via overnight service. They can offer no answers. If you call regularly, you are told that they are not allowed to talk to the same customers over and over again.

I have ordered from them for years and am not only NEVER ordering from them again, but I am contacting those who I referred over the years.

I can only assume that today's customers are funding the fulfillment of yesterday's (or last quarter's) orders. It works as long as the prices continue to fall...

Regardless, I have no interest in being their funding source and even less interest in taking their credit risk. Pay more, avoid the hassle and the risk!!!

Never Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UPDATE: Finally received the product as ordered on July 11th. Approximately 88 days after the check cleared. About a week prior to receiving my order I sent Tulving a registered letter giving them 10 business days to send product or a full refund. If it wasn't received in the alotted time I would pursue remedy through the courts with all costs being the responsibility of the Tulving company. I would encourage other buyers who have not received what they have paid for and have also waited a reasonable period of time to do the same. As of this time I will NEVER do any type of business with the Tulving company again. I am also sharing my story with friends and family who previously had dealt with Tulving. Anyone have consisitent good buys with other internet gold dealers? If so please pass on the name. Good luck with getting a positive resolution with the Tulving company.

Waiting, and Waiting II

Lord have mercy... Tulvings' services has gone down the drain. And Karen most be related to the family or something. Placed an order for a monster box of silver. Money was wired to their bank on the day I placed the order. Karen said the money was not there. I had to call their &^%*&% bank to ensure the money was there. The next day, I called Karen to ask when the order was going to be shipped since they claimed the product was in stock. Then, Karen proceeded to tell me there was a 10 day wait for them to move the silver from their vault to actually ship it.

My2Cents they do not have any silver in stock. It has been 2 weeks and nothing. No emails saying they shipped the order or anything. I am going to call the police tomorrow and file a complaint.

I've had 2 buying expriences from Tulving. They are professional adults you are dealing with, not a bunch of kids that don't know the answers. They have the best prices around with free shipping both ways.
plus they will give you a free silver eagle with 50K order. This helps offset the wire price. Thumbs up for Tulving!

Made a recent purchase after having good initial success with them. Now waiting over two weeks and no delivery. Getting very anxious that they may not bring the goods. What is sad is they stated they had plenty of these coins when I placed the order.

Unpleasant crooks

I transacted about $2.5M with Tulving over mostly 2011. The company always sent payments on time. I had two negative experiences:

1. On one order they calculated the total incorrectly. Karen treated me like an idiot. When she finally figured out that the error was in their favor and that I was trying to return money to them, her attitude improved. However she was particularly unpleasant when trying to explain the mistake to them. And her hours were very limited, so it was challenging to reach her - of course, she was the only one able to handle the issue as the order takers were busy submitting their employment applications at McDonalds.

2. An order taker mistakenly recorded the nature of a batch I sent in. The mistake was roughly $50/coin and $900 for the order. Hannes admitted he received the right item but that it was my fault I didn't correct the order taker. He claimed he already sold the batch. Of course he resold the batch at the right price and kept the $900 markup. I gave him numerous chances to do the right thing, especially in light of our significant (over 25 orders), successful transaction history and that I had previously pointed out an error in his favor.

You can't do good business with bad (attitude, service, ethics) people.

Great prices but not worth the stress

I bought $1000 face value from tulving.com and I got a great deal but I will never buy from them again. They took more than three weeks to send my silver, with various excuses that by the end were flatly contradicting earlier excuses. The price of silver changed significantly during that three weeks, and I missed an opportunity to sell because of the delay. I saved $hundreds off the other big sites (kitco, gainesville, apmex) but it wasn't worth the stress. They have gone bankrupt repeatedly, and Tulving has been prosecuted for fraud. I should have done more research before dealing with them.

Tried to buy 100 oz of Platinum. Multiple excuses for not delivering. The issue seemed to be that it was a big order. After 6 weeks gave up and sold it back to them. It took another 10 days to get my money back. I consider myself lucky that II escaped without a major loss. Never again

SLOW to SHIP & RUDE

I ordered several bags of 90% which were supposedly in stock and advertised to ship overnight. Well, when they advertise shipment overnight that does NOT mean they will ship your metal the day after they have your certified/wired Funds. No Sir. It means they will overnight it to you when they feel like it. In my case it was almost two months. When I called to complain and ask when my order would ship the owner would say something along the lines of, "we ship millions of $'s of stuff everyday. Your order is not important. It ships when it ships" and then rudely hang-up

After placing my order I read about how Hannes Tulving had previously declared bankruptcy. Needless to say, I did not sleep well for almost two months while waiting on my order.

Yes, their prices are competitive. However, I will never deal w/ them again. It is not worth the stress, drama and grief.

I am new to the PM market, so I have no previous experience to compare, but I don't understand the negative ratings and comments I've read here! I'm wondering whether some of the negative comments are being posted by Tulving's competitors who can't beat his prices. I ordered gold and silver products from Mr. Tulving, and had an excellent buying experience!
My order was shipped in several "installments", divided by product. For instance, one shipment might have contained 90% junk silver, another gold bars, the 3rd silver coins, etc. The shipments came about a week apart, with the first package arriving less than a week after my order was placed. I placed the order on a Saturday night, wired funds Monday morning, and received emailed invoices confirming my payments immediately.
As I said, my first installment of precious metals came about a week after my funds were wired. I got an email letting me know the shipment was on the way, and it arrived bright and early the next morning. All of the other shipments were exactly the same - email one day, gold or silver product the following morning. Within about 3 weeks, I had gotten all of the products I ordered, and all items were exactly as Mr. Tulving described them.. no surprises!
I was extremely pleased with my purchase! The Tulving Company has the best prices I could find anywhere, for sure, and their delivery method and timing was perfectly acceptable to me. All in all, I had an excellent experience buying from Mr. Tulving and I will definitely do business with him again!

First of all, isn't it interesting how there are so many buyers who have gotten the shaft, and at the same time buyers who have nothing but praise and 5 star ratings for this outfit. Something smells fishy. My experience is as follows. I was interested in trading some 90% for boxes of silver eagles. Due to what I have read about this seller online, I refused to consider shipping my 90% with the promise of receiving my boxes of silver eagles. I was NOT going to get caught up in some months long fiasco. So I called and spoke to Hannes. I explained that I would like to make a direct trade, face to face. I could meet one of his people in a bank, at my house, at their warehouse or wherever he wanted. He said that was not an option. His reply was "If we did it your way, then we'd be sitting on millions of dollars worth of metals." When the website says 100 boxes in stock, 500 boxes in stock or whatever, apparently it isn't true. So I said, "OK, get the boxes then we can set up the trade." Again, not an option. The only choice I was given was that I could drop off my 90% in person (2500 oz minimum!) and I would get a receipt. Then I could pick up the eagles in a few days. He wants me to hand over $75,000 worth of silver to HIM? Wow, and all I get is a piece of paper / receipt? No thanks. Apparently, my 90% would first have to be sold, then he would have the funds to buy eagles for me as they were not "in stock" as it said on the website. He was friendly enough on the phone. Sure, he was trying to suck me in with my 2500 oz of silver. Of course he's going to be nice. Once I would hand him the silver, all the power would then be in HIS hands and I would be the one sweating bullets. That was the first and last time I deal with those guys. I found another dealer and was able to make my trades face to face with no bs.

rude, unprofessional, and slow to ship

Have purchased many times from Tulving with no problems until recently. For asking when a Platinum order would ship, I got a rude tirade from Hannes instead, that ultimately spanned 10 or 12 childish e-mails. Don't know or care what the problem is, this dealer has lost my trust and respect. Shipping used to be prompt, and service good, but not recently. Good prices, but Tulving has been bankrupt before,and slow deliveries are a big red flag in my book.

Awful Experience

I have made a total of two purchases from Tulving, the first went smooth as silk whereas the second was a total nightmare. In the past I have used Monex, Gainesville and Apmex so I have a little experience on which to base an opinion. The second tranaction took over ten weeks to receive, yes 10 weeks. I called just about each and every week and spoke to Karen-I realize she's not the culpable party here-and was given one reason (excuse) after another-it reminded me of the Blues Brothers-ran outta gas, had a flat tire, couldn't get a cab, my tux wasn't back from the cleaners, floods, locust.... Meanwhile I'm waking up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat worrying about my money. Honestly, I've had a better and more courteous customer service experience from McDonalds buying off the dollar menu.
Next time I'll gladly pay more and not have to contend with the worry, headache, frustration and general edginess, it wasn't worth it, the frustration was dominating my life.
I thank God that I did finally receive, I literally got on my knees and said a prayer of thanks to God-more than once.

NEVER EVER AGAIN!!!

NEVER AGAIN! I have been a customer since 1999 and never had a problem with the approximately 75-100 previous orders until this one. The short story is that I did receive what I ordered but it took about 8 weeks after he received my wire payment. I don't know whether they don't have the merchandise in stock or whether they use customer's money as "float", or both. The delay in shipping is absolutely unacceptable. I was repeatedly given the excuse that their insurance had a daily cap on the dollar amount that could be shipped. This is absurd! If this is the problem, they need to up their coverage and the problem is fixed! I was also given the excuse that they don't ship on Thursdays (so that a package doesn't sit in a warehouse over the weekend if it doesn't get signed for). One of my packages ended up being shipped on Thursday! My humble opinion is that those awesome prices aren't worth the stress of worrying if your order will ever be received. I hope and pray that Tulving stays in business at least 6 months and 1 day after my order date. It is my understanding that bankruptcy courts can seize assets, including any merchandise sold in the previous 6 months, until the creditors and assets are sorted out. There are plenty of honest and professional bullion dealers out there not to have to put up with this treatment. I really feel for you other guys out there that are still waiting on their orders.

Ship next week...yea right..

I have bought many times over the past 3 years from Tulving and up until the last few months I have not had any problems. They are taking over a month to ship and every time I call they say it will ship next week and the next week comes and nothing. I like how they said the hurricane slowed down their orders, how does something over 1500 miles away from me slow down orders? Did they just not ship anything anywhere in the courntry because of the hurricane?

Never had Tulving swear at me but I would not put it past him. Maybe he would be happier if he shipped product quicker and there would be less people calling and bothering him.

Great prices but I'm not sure if it is worth it.

Delayed shipment of silver

I order a monster box of silver over a month ago and still have not received it nor given a ship date. I am beginning to believe they don't have the item in stock so they are waiting until they can buy it from someone. Meanwhile, I get stock answers like delay due to the hurricane. Well, it has been a month and nothing. I called them yesterday and they had no idea when it would ship. I wrote Hannes an email to inquire and got back an angry response implying that my small order was not important because of the amount of business they do daily.

On the other hand, I order gold from Liberty at the same time and it is already in my hands. I don't know how Tulving stays in business when they are so rude and cannot give people an honest ship date. I will never order another product from them again. They may have a good price, but the hassles of dealing with them are not worth it.

I am beginning to believe they don't have the item in stock so they are waiting until they can buy it from someone. Meanwhile, I get stock answers like delay due to the hurricane. Well, it has been a month and nothing. I called them yesterday and they had no idea when it would ship. I wrote Hannes an email to inquire and got back an angry response implying that my small order was not important because of the amount of business they do daily.

On the other hand, I order gold from Liberty at the same time and it is already in my hands. I don't know how Tulving stays in business when they are so rude and cannot give people an honest ship date. I will never order another product from them again. They may have a good price, but the hassles of dealing with them are not worth it.

trustworthy firm

This is an excellent company. The prices are very competitive because they don't have a big sales force and other marketing expenses. You get exactly what you pay for in a reasonable amount of time. I see from other comments that delivery is sometimes delayed. That has never been my experience over many years. But even if one order got delayed, the key target is getting what you bought - and paying the right price. In this, Tulving performs. But if you need your hand held by a professional marketing and sales team, then pay the extra money in commissions and overhead - that's why those companies exist and that's ok.

Unprofessional and DIshonest

My experience has been very similar to others who have indicated prolonged delays in shipment,automated responses from Karen, and unprofessional and obscene conduct by Hannes Tulving. It is truly a remarkable business model when the owner says: "I dont give a shit" as to concerns regarding prolonged delays in shipment. I have been waiting more than 7 weeks for my bullion order and cannot get a committment date for shipment. Given other comments from this site regarding prolonged delays, it is clear that their indication of delivery within "about 4 weeks" is well beyond what is within normal business practices and they are instead engaged in systematic deception. Translation, this is a fradulent business. Well smartypants, have fun dealing with the Newport Beach PD.

Ordered BU Maple Leafs. When they finally arrived several coins were terrible-looking. Never seen modern coins so beat-up and scratched. When I called I was given the run-around. Finally they said to return for exchange (at my cost). What they did next floored me. Instead of sending replacement ML's they sent misc 1 ox bars. When I called to Complain Tulving said, "The deal is closed. Don't order from us anymore."

I didn't order 1 oz bars, but that is what I ended up with. I would never do business w/ him again. The competition is just too plentiful (and more pleasant to deal with).

I've ordered a substantial number of times from Tulving over the last two years. Placed an order last Wednesday and received it the following Tuesday. They are quite predictable. Poor everything! Avoid!

I would discourage anyone from ordering or dealing with Tulving, regardless of what the "savings" may seem to be. I recommended them to a friend and associate recently who wanted to place a very substantial order involving both gold and silver. Since this person was new to this, I offered to walk the process through. Never again, not with this company.

It took more than six weeks to complete delivery, during which time the new customer was quite nervous. The explanations from the customer service department seemed reasonable until I pushed the communication level up to Mr. Tulving himself. It then became apparent that customer service was being told what to tell people and that the real story was something other. The logic used by Mr. Tulving to explain why product paid for nearly six weeks earlier hadn't been shipped was ridiculous. When I pressed him on the issue, he became combative and unprofessional. I will never recommend his company again to anyone.

The only reason I gave a rating of "two stars" on customer service is in recognition of the nice lady who takes care of shipping and who obviously has to take all of the flak created by Mr. Tulving's lack of transparency, forthrightness, and his evasive answers to questions. She did her best to make things happen and to provide explanations but her story was often in conflict with Mr. Tulving's "story". I feel sorry for this lady and hope that she is able to find a better job with a better employer.

Slow Shipping

My order of silver was shipped 9 calendar days after Tulving confirmed receipt of the wired payment.

When a dealer advertises that a product is in stock, the standard I look for is shipping within 2 business days after payment is verified. Several days after receiving confirmation of payment but having received no notification of shipment, I called to ask about the delay. Karen assured me that they had the product in stock, and she was pleasant as she explained that the delay was due to a backlog of orders caused by restrictions imposed by their insurance company on the amount they can ship each day. It does make sense that the insurance company would limit the amount that can be put on each UPS truck, thereby limiting their potential loss if a truck is involved in an accident or is targeted by thieves, and it also makes sense that no shipments would be allowed on Friday since UPS doesn’t move on weekends and merchandise would be sitting idle for 2 days in a relatively insecure location.

Still, I’m skeptical that there’s no solution to the problem of long shipping delays. If they can’t renegotiate terms with the insurance company or contract with UPS for multiple pickups each day, they could clear the backlog by shipping some orders through the postal service, which most PM dealers consider to be the safest shipping method. At the very least, the shipping limitations should be explained on their website so buyers know what to expect.

The fact that they haven’t taken steps to resolve the issue invites suspicion that something nefarious may be going on. At best it shows poor management and a lack of respect for customers. My experience wasn’t as bad as that of other reviewers, but unless their shipping times improve, I doubt I’ll take a chance on ordering from them again.

Very disappointing

My experience with Tulving was quite disappointing. I waited months for the price of silver to dip down to $27/ounce. When it did, on the advice of my daughter whose boss must have had a special relationship with them, I purchased from Tulving. Kevin told me he had to have payment wired to him before he could guarantee price. It was wired within an hour. With a guarantee of overnight delivery, one would expect Tulving to fill the order quickly, yes? Nope...I waited and waited. I'm not much for dishonest game playing, so after a month and the fourth time of hearing my order would be shipped in 3-4 days, I asked to sell my order back as was promised. Karen said they didn't do that. I called back the next day, and spoke with Kevin as if I hadn't dealt with him. He said, as he had before, that any silver they sold, they would buy back. So, I told him my silver is supposed to be there but has never been shipped. He reluctantly went ahead, but that a check would be sent. How's that? Wire my money in, but Tulving sends a check? I realized that either they don't have the silver yet and don't want to be honest enough to tell me, or they are waiting for the silver to drop more so they can make more money off my order. In any case, there was clear dishonesty on their part as far as I was concerned, and I wanted no part of their games anymore. The price of silver rose, but I still lost over $400 to Tulving on the order and over $3,000 because the price of silver rose during the period of dealing with them. If you want an experience like that, go ahead, order with them. I've learned not to do so. I'll go to my local dealer, give my cash to them and walk out with silver in my hand. I will not order over the phone or internet. It may cost more to deal with a local, but it's a crap shoot dealing with people who are 2,500 miles away. Tulving? Not I again. Go ahead if you want a similar experience. Quite frankly, it seems to me, Tulving just doesn't give a damn.

INSULTING AND DOES NOT SHIP

I have been waiting over a month for my silver order. Only one person can answer questions relating to the status of an order. Every week for a month I'm told it will arrive this week. Still did not receive last of the order. If you order more than one item, they ship each item at least a week apart as separate shipments. Owner is incredibly insulting and have been called a liar and deceitful for trying to get a ship date for my product. Will never recommend them or do business with them again. Not worth the hassle. Gainesville and APMEX are far better businesses.

Weeks on monster boxes, overnight on 90% junque, best prices

On the recent price dip, I first ordered monster boxes of silver Eagles & Maples and it took about 3 weeks to receive my shipment. Web site is somewhat misleading - they ship overnight...but sometimes after waiting weeks. A few weeks later, I ordered a bag of 90% and, even though their web site says "our choice, dimes or quarters," they sent me dimes on request (I already had quarters, but wanted dimes for Mad Max change), for which I am grateful. Incredibly, I received my dimes the next business day! Their staff were very knowledgeable and helpful each time I ordered or e-mailed/called to follow-up. Hannes & his staff are strictly business. If you want hand-holding and coddling, go hang out at your local coin dealer and pay more. Tulving's prices whup the $#!+ out of the other bullion dealers on large orders, saving me hundreds of FeRNs. I would order from them again without hesitation.

Tulving sat on my money for over (34 days) before finally shipping my purchase.

When their website says, 'Sold out' and 'Large Quantities Available' and 'All Monster Boxes Shipped Free Overnight' you kind of assume once payment is confirmed the order will ship soon.

Best Value of any Dealer

Tulving prices are the best in the business. Not only are their spreads impossible to beat, but shipping is FREE, there sales people do not receive commissions, there are no fees for insurance, you just pay for your PM. You can't beat it. When your order ships, it ships overnight. Gold orders usually ship in 5 to 7 days and Silver in 7 to 10 days. They do not ship on Friday, Sat, or Sun, so you have to keep that in mind when calculating your shipping days. All in all I had a good experience with Tulving and I will definetly buy from them again.

and the only part of my experience that was pleasant was talking to the girl
Karen in the office. On sat 8/4 I was finally able to catch up with Hannes
Tulving he told me to call on monday 8/6 when I tried to plead my case,his
response went like this " I don't know and I don't care,call monday" I guess
it's easy to figure I'm not happy. He won't be coming to my picnic,honest!

waiting....waiting....waiting

First rep was great on phone, but I had to wait until I was able to confirm that my bank could wire the funds within the set parameters. Got that confirmation but it was tight, called Tulving back 2 days later and spoke to different rep--very different, very arrogant attitude. Placed order though, then asked the simple question about what the procedure is if my bank was delayed on the wire. What followed was a lecture from some obviously young fellow that I had made a committment and that he expected payment on time, repleat with the appending, "do you understand?". Pretty insulting in that he knew nothing at all about me, and we sure don't do business that way out here in Texas....but fine, I'm talking to someone in California with too much self esteem, I'll get over it since the price is right. Well, wire actually got there same day, lo and behold, and I received an electronic invoice but sans tracking number. Then the wait began. I'm afraid that despite their feelings to the contrary, Tulving is not the only thing going on in my life as a doctor.....it was hard to find time to call, but after reading their website again and learning what a wonderful guy Hennes Tulving is, and being advised to email him anytime about anything, I took a dare and asked for an estimate on shipping date. What I got back was a terse "I don't handle, call so and so". Who? number? What the hell? WILCO today, we'll see what happens I suppose. Sure hope I don't have to make time for a trip to California, but after reading all these other reviews I just might have to. I've got some pretty healthy self esteem too, once I'm angry enough.

The best value for your money

Tulving has the best value for the money. Yes, Mr Tulving is gruff, and is a no bull shit type of guy but he is more than fair. They are operating on a low overhead to give the best prices. Warning: do not ship PM via UPS to your home address because the delivery driver will give your PM to your neighbor if your not there,even if it requires a signiture. Please ship your PM up to the UPS center to avoid a major problem.

Great prices and service

I have read the reviews on Tulving but for me, and I believe the vast majority, Tulving Coins is the best place to buy or sell precious metals. I was drawn to Tulving because of the prices and have never had a problem with customer service. I haven't been able to find better prices anywhere whether I'm buying or selling - and I'm not talking a few pennies per ounce. I recently sold my silver for spot price to Tulving. Try that at your friendly neighborhood coin shop. And right after one of my purchases for 1-ounce gold Canadian Maple Leafs I had a change in travel plans hit me. Hannes personally ensured fast-track delivery. I'm not a big wig who buys thousands of ounces of gold, just a little guy who makes semi-regular purchases. Every coin shop I've ever visited recognizes the name Tulving. And whenever I call or walk into a coin shop and ask if they can beat Tulving's prices I always get the same reaction: a shake of the head or a simple despondent "no." They don't even ask me what price Tulving is buying or selling at or what metal/coin/bar I'm referring to.

Before buying or selling I always check around and will continue to do so but I will be surprised if I find better prices than Tulving. If you can find better - for buying or selling - from a reputable, established dealer please let me know. I have been checking for ten years and have yet to find one. vp

I wish I had read the reviews before ordering.

I have not received what I ordered yet. It appeared from the web site that they ship overnight so I placed an order. Now I am in Tulving "limbo" trying to get an update.

If they don't have an item in stock they should not take a bank wire for it. I have no patience for this and will order from APMEX or someone reputable and more polite, the spread be damned.

I sent what is for me a huge chunk of money to Tulving and am still waiting for my Invoice to turn into a tracking number. It has only been a few days, but when you advertise free overnight shipping and list items as "in stock" it is totally unreasonable to take days or weeks to provide a tracking number.

This makes me very nervous. I will be losing some sleep until I get my order. This kind of behavior is suspicious. I have ordered from Tulving years ago and while he was always a cranky SOB he delivered the goods. Now I am not so sure.

Beware until (if) his reviews improve.

recieved shipment

Well this is my second order of gold bullion, from this company in one month span not really a problem , so far I've read the horror stories posted here and other places and I have to say it does concern me, I read yesterday about a $10 million dollar law suit Mr. Tulving lost that really concerns me , but both times I've ordered from this company I was notified either the same day or the next day that they recieved payment and e-mailed me a paid invoice, howeverboth times on the sixth day after ordering I would contact the company about a tracking # ,and both times I was politely spoken to by Mr. Tulvings staff and with in a few hours recieved a tracing # ,and the very next day received my bullion by UPS overnight express . I can only conclude that the tulving company is very busy ,or does not have the bullion in stock and orders it theirselves from thier suppliers the ships it out .this really doesn't bother me so long as I recieve my order within a week , I would say this that the Tulving company should at least tell customers when they can expect their bullion ,at time of purchase , and not leave it to such a vague time when you may receive the items . It tends to make people very concerned , because few people make purchases of this size on a daily basis. Mr. Tulving deals in large volumes of precious metals on a daily basis , but average Joe does not ,and it takes a lot of trust in a company to send that company $30,000.00 or more , so Mr. Tulving should read some of these reports ,and take heed. It could do wonders for his business if he would just give a expected time of delivery ,and then make sure it is delivered at that time ,this is only good business practices, I know when I was in business dealing with other businesses if you missed your delivery dates you ultamently lost your customers , same thing can happen here if Mr. Tulvings reviews continue to be bad , however everything said , I will continue to buy from this company until I'm disatisfied .

Warning - Tulving provides poor service

If you are ok with waiting four weeks to get your order and being lied to multiple times, then Tulving is your company. Their pricing is ok but their service is terrible. I called Karen multiple times to check on my product delivery. Each time Karen promised the order within the next 2 to 3 days, but it would not come. I hate it when someone over promises and under delivers, and Karen is the master at doing this. The only reason I received my order was because Mr. Tulving got involved. I wish the rating system on the site would give you the opportunity to give the company no stars at all (the minimum is one) because Tulving does not deserve any stars.
