I have never bought from TexMetals, but I have sold to them, and I had a nice experience. I called to inquire about selling 20 Gold Buffaloes. Once I was clear on the premiums, they emailed me my shipping label and scheduled a FedEx courier to come to my house to pick up the package. When he arrived, he scanned the label, I called to lock-in the spot, TexMetals had the package the next day, and my check arrived 3 days later. Much simpler than I expected.
To me, the fact that I never had to leave my house with $37,000 worth of gold bullion is a BIG deal. The convenience is nice, but the security of the transaction is what I appreciated most.
For what it's worth, I had a really positive experience buying from Texas Precious Metals. Good prices, good service. Really good all around. On the downside, they don't have a huge selection if that matters to people. I tend to focus exclusively on government issue coins (I don't like the premiums on the numismatic stuff) so if you're into collectibles, TexMetals isn't the company. If you want Eagles, Maples, Krugs, Silver Bars, Rounds, for a great price and brand new etc, TexMetals is the place to go.
Just want to throw in my two cents. I have purchased from a lot of companies, and TexMetals is my pick - hands down - for several reasons.
1. Their premiums are way cheaper than APMEX (not even in the stratosphere), and even cheaper then Provident, which is also in Texas.
2. Their minimums are lower than Tulving, and they are cheaper than Tulving on Canadian Products especially, even at higher volume.
3. Their delivery times are much faster than Gainesville, where you can wait as long as 3-4 weeks to take delivery of a package (Plus Gainesville has past bankruptcy issues, which are unnerving). In fact, TexMetals has a policy where if they don't have it in stock, they won't sell it.
Lastly, for the people like me who buy regularly, TexMetals is the only company that accepts limit orders. This is HUGE. I can place an order for when Gold or Silver hit a certain price, to AUTOMATICALLY execute - 24/7. You can truly dollar cost average at your intended price points.
All the companies here are reliable - Provident, Gainesville, Tulving, APMEX - but Texmetals gets the nod from me.
