Bullion vs Coins ???

I have ordered GAE's and 100oz RCM bars and 1oz RCM maple leafs on 4 different occasions. Ordered on line, put in credit card info, got email invoice for wire transfers within minutes, went and wired $ within a few hours, received email confirmation of receipt of funds within hours of wiring, ordered stuff showed up in under a week via FedEx Ground (hate them)or USPS (much better). ALL of my experiences were within the last 90 days. Most of the complaints I see with all of the dealers mostly are about condition of coins with numismatic value. I have had horrible experiences with "investment numismatics" and in particular CT Group / Todd Griffiths. Seems rare coins are worth whatever the dealer says they are worth. I've had dealers tell me something is worth X at wholesale and 2-3 times X at retail, this is BS to me and why I only buy bullion in popular forms. I have not sold anything to APMEX, but I am encouraged that they post what they will pay right next to the sell price. So far the experience is predictable. Maybe as some say I'm paying a little extra. That's not very inportant to me. What is important is trust and so far I have no reason to distrust these guys.

I ordered silver libertads 1982-2012, in order to get them in a timely fashion i paid VERY high credit card premiums, and the total ended up being $6.00 above spot. All of the libertads were from 1982, and the quality ranged from good to uncirculated.They arrived 10 days after placing my order, so much for expidited shipping!

For silver no one is better.

The silver bullion prices are better than anyone else, I have not found another supplier who can match them, I am trying to get a larger silver holding, they ship fast, they have great offers and have a good turn around.

SLOW AS CAN BE

I have not got my order yet and i payed all the extra fees for doing so because I thought itd be faster using a credit card witch is 1-3 days to procces and useing a bank wire or check is 5-10 days. Its day five now and they are still proccing my money. like wtf. you think a company that deals with gold and silver would try and ship it to you as fast as they can do to price drops and ups in the stock market. I asked yesterday from an online employee to check on my order and she said my payment is still waiting to be aproved by the higher ups that work there. well wtf did i use a credit card for then. a check or wire transfer would have been cheaper and i would have waited the same amount of time. if i knew they would have lied in there policy I would have never orderd from them in the fist place. So i tell her i used a credit card and then she just spews out som BS to cover up the fact the are in the wrong and she said there is nothing i can do to make it go faster. bottem line im paying up the a$$ in extra fees and should have my stuff by now for doing so. I bought a scale from amazon the same day and that shiped here on day 4 from across the country. there gonna lose alot of bissness from me because im buying from dealers around my town with out BS extra fees and cheaper gold and silver. Dont overspend

I have made many purchases from them. They are way over priced. Save your money and shop around. I have given them thousands of dollars in high premiums when we should have done our homework and shopped around. Some of their new proofs were marred and a couple items where wrong but they did correct one of this issues. I wish I had been a better informed consumer prior to just using this vender. You will get your order relatively quickly but you will overpay dearly. It has been a costly lesson and wish I had never made these purchases.

Apmex is OK but surely not the best site to buy your silver and gold.

I really love the website set up at APMEX and it is very easy to buy but the prices with a credit card are rediculous and with a check they are still higher that other places. For example a Silver Maple leaf is 32.50 compared to 30.10 at ProvidentMetals.com. A 2.5 gram gold bar is 155 compared to 140. So therefore I am going to shop at Provident Metals for they are cheaper than any other site I have visited and I have visited every one. And each site either has some bs you have to go through to buy there, a high markup over spot, high charges for using a credit/debit card, or shipping thats too high. For a 1500 dollar order I pay 11 dollars a Provident Metals. Check it out people.

Read this before you buy Proof Silver from Apmex.

Order 60 Proof silver dollars ranging 1986 - 2012. All coins received however upon inspection I found the most horrific quality coins I have ever come across in collecting. I had ordered a large quantity of brand new 2012 proofs which of course were all mint. The older dates (2010 and earler) however ranged from dull looking to light spotting, to full blown discoloration and dark spots all over the coins. I am amazed and shocked they would ship this condition of coin. I feel like I have been stolen from, there return policy is 3 days which I missed because I travel for work. Anyway, I had heard they had practices like this in the past but to have it done to yourself... well lets just say I wanted to warn everyone. My sales rep wont call me back anymore after I told him what happened, which is funny because they were happy to call me to get me to order. disappointed would be an understatement.

Package not delivered

When I checked the delivery status at USPS it says it was delivered at 10:58 AM and signed by me. I was at my work from 6:45 AM until 4:45 PM. The proof of delivery emailed to me by USPS has no signature on the "signature of the recipient". When I called the post office they told me it was left in my mail box. Why would someone leave a package that needs signature confirmation in my mail box without getting my signature? This is my first buying experience and been a nightmare so far calling APMEX and local post office. They already cashed my check for $2000 more than a week ago. APMEX should fix their product delivery issues. I have been living at my new home which is in a very reputed neighborhood for more than a year and never had lost packages. I understand it is USPS fault but APMEX should pick a postal carrier who is more reliable and deliver packages only to the recipient after getting signature.

Easy, Fast, Satisifed

APMEX made my first purchase of 2012 Liberty Silver Dollars a snap. I considered some of the other highly rated companies, but many (such as Gainsville) while offering a slightly beter price required Bank WIres within 24 hours or a forfeiture of the deposit made via credit card.

I had a problem with the APMEX Web Site, and it would not proceed to the final checkout phase. Called them and placed the order within minutes. No sales pitch to buy other products. Just took my order, and I immediately received the email with the transaction details.

I ordered Monday morning about 9AM Arizona time. The Silver was delivered that Friday, as advertised.

One note, not related to APMEX but rather FEDEX. Received a call on Thursday that FEDEX woud be delivering a package that required a signature. When FEDEX delivered the package they just handed it to me, without signature. I told that driver that a signature was required and he said no and left. The package was clearly marked "ADULT SIGNATURE REQUIRED". Certainly glad they delivered to the corret address.

Will definitely do business with APMEX again.

Defective product

Small investor. Been stocking up little bit little bit. Apmex has been my supplier for a little while. Up to now I have been happy with the purchases!. But this last order was a bomb. Listed as brilliant uncirculated, the coin arrived with 3 large gashes in the rim and several small abrasions.. The return and exchange policy will end up costing more than the difference for keeping the defective coin at melt value?. I can only consider that Apmex has stuck one to me. Dumped defective merchandise on a small buyer. This is how a company loses customers. I have left this comment in their review section but I really don't expect to see them post it on their site. Ever wonder why the reviews are always written by elated customers

I have, to date, ordered silver products from APMEX 8 times. I switched to sending them a check USPS first class. Amazingly, they only hold the check 5 days! (The minimum stated in their policy) At day 6 my order is on the way and an e-mail with tracking number is provided. The products are universally in perfect condition and no mistakes are made. Overall I am very satisfied with them as a vendor.

I gave them three stars for customer service only because I've never had a problem that required calling them.

All of the policies are on the web site and easily readable. I am sure some expect "special" treatment but hey, they are in business to make a profit so just follow the rules and you'll be fine.

Though i cancelled the order with APMEX and acutal order was made from Gainesville coins.

It appears that they are expensive on the same day with 10 minutes difference for 30 quantity 1 oz gold coins they are $1400 expensive than Gainesville coins.

So i cancelled the order with APMEX and they have charged me 350 dollars market loss and 35 dollars additional credit card fee.

What i learnt is APMEX stuff is very polite and friendly but pricewise
gainesville.com is better.

Unfortunately they do not provide any document or screenshot of how exactly market loss occured and proof for it other than sending an invoice to you if asked for proof.

Though APMEX staff are very polite and always very prompt responsive their rates are comparitively high .

Unfortunately, i do not recommend them for their higher premiums compared to gainesville coins.

I noticed APMEX accepting personal checks. I placed an order and was blocked from proceeding. The problem: credit card information required!

I used APMEX chat and was informed to call for further process assistance. I called & this guy must thought I fell off a turnip truck. Do not give APMEX your credit card information! I had bad dealings with this company 3 years ago.

These folks tried to time the cancellation of an order I had every intent to pay for at the market lows so they could maximize their profits with their 'market loss' policy. On top of that, they refuse to negotiate and take a week or two to reply to each e-mail I send. Getting them on the phone is a joke as noone seems to be available to take my calls. I am now working with BBB, FTC and my attorney to sort this out. Bottom line? Stay FAR AWAY from this company. They will take your money and give you nothing in return.

Totally Fraud and a Third class company who resorts to cheating and swindling you for every penny they can get.
Poor customer service especially Tiffany and Alicia but the cake goes to a person called Greg who should not be answering phones or inter acting with customers.Apmex should send their CSR's for a basic training in language and inter personal skills. That being said ,Apmex has used my money for 2 months interest free and on top of that I had to endure stress dealing with their third class csr.BUYERS BEWARE

I had received my 1/10th Gold Maple Leaf damaged. It was in the RCM packaging, so the damage had to be visible PRIOR TO SHIPPING! It was the ONLY coin in the box, so there was nothing else that could have damaged the coin in transit. I called to rectify the problem and that in itself was a MAJOR HASSLE. FINALLY Apmex (should be APE-mex due to their rudeness towards PAYING customers) agreed to replace the coin if I sent it back AT MY COST! I was so pissed I did just that. Guess what I got back? A 1/10th oz Maple Leaf that was NOW/NOT in RCM package and it was obvious that someone at APE-Mex had just taken the coin out of it's packaging and bent it back flat. When I got it it was'nt even FLAT!! Previously I had done $25K in businees with them and you think they would'nt have jerked me around. Take your business to your LOCAL Coin Dealer folks, the APE-mex hassles are not worth the aggravation! AND you'll save the shipping costs!

both gold and silver
yes there have been a few issues, however apmex has taken care of them in a timly manner..
you buy they ship I usually get my order in 7 to 10 days..
Credit Card in one week easy
I will continue to buy in the future

During the Oklahoma City floods last year I had a silver order that got delayed. I left several voicemails on Apmex's phone as I was alarmed because no one was answering the phone at Apmex. The reason: The area had flooded so bad that the Apmex employees couldn't make it to work - Later an Apmex VP actually waded into the office and called me (and others) to let me know what the problem was. The order was shipped shortly after the call. I've ordered about 10 times from Apmex without any problems.

I bought APMEX brand gold bars of .9999 purity. All of the .9999 gold bars turned red. I called APMEX to complain. The employee informed me that it is typical/normal for APMEX barnd .9999 gold to turn red and would not accept a return or exchange. At least they admit they have an inferior product. Buyer Beware!

I have had two experiences with Apmex, both were poor. The first experience was the purchase of a 1oz platinum pamp bar that was supposed to be sealed in the original case. The bar came and the case came in two separate pieces.
The second experience was purchasing two 1/2 oz platinum coins. I called within three minutes of making the purchase on line to add one more to the order. They refused to add anything to the order and insisted that I pay double shipping charges. That's my last order from this company.
Attitude and customer service is really poor.

Simply DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.
if you decided to do just pray everything go alright otherwise the worst customer service and cancelation dept.(got forbid if you want to cancel your order) and deliver. they are OK untill get your money after that forget it.nobody cares , As i said if you lucky and get your product otherwise you see their true face and how they treat customers. i am very unhappy with whole their system , i got fooled by their web site and feed backs , i guess they enter only the possitive ones, DON'T LET THEM FOOL YOU. look for someone else.

I have been buying from APMEX for 1 1/2 years. They have always delivered and their customer service cannot be beat. I have always had good service with APMEX until this last shipment when I ordered 100 silver mapels and got 100 silver eagles.The paperwork in the order I received even states Maples but that is not what I got. The maples are a far better coin with a higher pure silver content 9999 not 999 as in the silver eagles, so they are worth a little more. I have just notified APMEX about the shiping mistake I hope they clear it up fast, and if they do my rating will go from 2 to 4 stars.

I attempted to purchase a 1/10 gold maple leaf with credit. I was told to send a personal check, but their policy states that credit is a valid payment source. I spoke with Greg Tower. I ordered 300 OZ of Silver bars in January 2011 from APMEX I sent them alomost $10,000 by mail as instructed they took over three weeks before they claim to have sent me my product. Once I picked it up from the UPS station I got home opened it up and only had 2 of the 10 bars I ordered, but the box was large and contained smaller boxes that were empty. I immmediatley contacted Jana Neal in customer Service she started a claim and had seberal other people call me and I communicated to them thoroughly. I notified the POlice who cam eout investigated and determined that the box had been opened from the bottom at some point in transit and part of my ordered removed, therefor they could not file a police report due to that issue. Ms. Neal FORCED me to give to UPS the box for their investigation against my better judgment I did so and now alomost three months later they say that the claim is denied and she wont return my alls or emails any more basically teling me they not going to send me my product or the money. Meanwhile Im out over $7000. DO NOT ORDER FROM APMEX THEY...BEWARE BEWARE, I now have to file lawsuit agianst them which Im going to do to get my money but I should not have to go through this and the company shoud be communicating to me and not hiding behind emails and not speaking to me after I sent them my money in good faith. This company should be shut down.

I was charged 35 dollars for cancellation, they email put I dont check my email everyday, well this RUDE MAN NAMED GREG TOWER, instead of helping me was rude, poor customer service from Mr. Tower, you can make your poing without being a displaced representative, and I asked to talk to somebody higher, and he said that everybody was in a meeting and that he did not know what time they were back, please...people like him should not talk to costumers!!

I give Goldline not even a star. AMPEX is ok and would be better if the commission was a bit lower. My Five Star rating so far goes to REGAL Gold Coins. Oh - also check for shipping - sometimes dealers take weeks. I received my gold in 5 days form Regal Gold Coins.

I've placed and received quite a few orders with APMEX and have never had an issue with any of them. Everything arrived when I expected it and the web site has kept me informed of the progress of the order. So I can't speak to any customer service problems that other people have mentioned here.
